Till they came back from Kashmir, I did believe Ani loved J and a lot. After seeing his pleasure in hurting her, his distrust of her (fire), quitting looking for a girl with no money and moving on with Arshi - thats when I realized - this cannot be love as I know it.

I joined mid way too...maybe around the 180 episode or so and caught up. The show seemed very good esp wrt Runak other than BH toxicity.

Let's see where they take it. I always have maintained, I want them both to be on equal ground before any further progress happens with Runak. So glad to see J move on and put away her 'innocent' aka stupid andaaz.

I'm actually excited for the show, because I have no idea where it is going and that is unusual for a ITV show.

My only counter question is in all that the serial has depicted so far are you convinced that Ani loves Arshi? If the answer is yes, you are absolutely right to focus on the story for Jhanak’s journey. And even if the answer is no, being interested in Jhanak’s journey isn’t odd at all. We pick the narratives that interest us. I am interested In Runak’s story alone. For me their love story touches a chord.. their pathway is in pain now but I feel for the two…

As for Jhanak developing deeper relationships and forming a trusted circle of friendship away from Ani… I would say absolutely she should and in real life it is something that is to be encouraged. Coz if your circle of influence is so limited, you are always in the danger of not having the right perspective to relationships. In fact, in my posts I have throughout maintained that Jhanak’s experience of a myriad life alone will give her the ability to address her moral dilemma. To me, the Mumbai chapter and her encounters with people here, good and bad is a step for her to experience life beyond the confines of BH, Ani included; gain confidence to lead her life independently.

I don’t think I have the capacity to answer the question if love is physical attraction alone, I would say it is a certainly a definitive part of it… how much I really can’t say…it sometimes begins with it and morphs into understanding and loving other aspects and at times it begins with understanding and companionship and reaches a stage of beauty is as beauty does or Beauty in the eye of the beholder!!

as far as the point about stability of Ani-J relationship in the future… well they aren’t even close to fructifying this one so hard for me to speculate what that holds. The issue is serials attach too much of narrative power to toxicity of relationship in a way they never explore the power of simple story telling!!

For me this is simple 3-4 line plot and it can only be a fixed episodes series - take a pick 300 or 350 episodes nothing more… if they intend to do beyond this, they will only do at the expense of the ML character as that is the norm of the industry. Also they will take themes of which they have zero understanding and mess around

I was drawn to the story based on the moral conflict angle and I tend to avoid stories where I have a suspicion that it will lead to forced entanglement morphing into love. And end in the kitchen .

I have a genuine irritation with that kind of love shown on itv although I completely understand lot of arranged relationships morph into love beautifully but don’t this medium has the creative license to explore that. Luckily or unluckily, I watched the serial mid way and it struck me here was a story that was doing everything to move away from the bond and focusing on the moral angle albeit subtly and I stayed on to see how that develops. Needless to say I was impressed with the writing for the ML and his flawed self so beautifully portrayed by Krushal. Also the Hiba Krushal chemistry sealed the deal for me.

They dont have script, but they know what to write and remember also what they showed.

Aditya they gave the dialogue about womaniser and so its on purpose that they are making Anirudh mouth rubbish from that aag.

Anyways atleast after the track Jhanak became strong. Good progress.

What I am about to write here is my hunch, will potentially be unpopular and I would gladly stand to be corrected, if the makers prove me otherwise !

Please do not keep any hopes - any expectations, that Ani will change, realise his mistakes, see a character growth for the better ANYTIME soon. If we hope, it will fall flat and the joke would be on us !

On the contrary, he through his actions will keep Arshi relevant. And stoop lower if we consider that his jealousy game will be on point !

And if you can possibly look at him as toggling between a hero and a vilian, on maker's free-will , it will probably hurt less !

The reasons are simple -

1. No expectations = No heart breaks

2. Makers have strong motivation to keep Ani weak, flippant and non-commital - they will make him pull off stunts worse than what he already has - Ani's conflicting persona is creating the required hype, drama, suspense ,well in short, whateva , that is fetching the TRPs.

3. This is an iTV ML in question, and they unfortunately don't see the light of the day most times!

Ani sudhar gaya, toh yeh show mein kuchh bachega nehi - is what the makers believe - why they believe so, God knows, there are at least 10 meaningful sub-plots that come to mind , but whateva !

I would like to believe, that as a writer, Leena G would have grown up reading Bong literature and her narratives are loosly inspired by them !

There was an era jaha pseudo feminism ki hawa chali thi, most books were women centric, had the woman as the titular character and men supporting/creating chaos in her journey !

For inexplicable reasons, an all supportive boyfriend / husband , who gives his all , to ensure the heroine becomes a District Magistrate, suddenly turns all grey and jealous of her , to the extent that it leads to a divorce ! - bong literature is rigged with many such stories !

Then there are endless stories of unrequitted love, where the men are shown to be selfish, weak personalities who the women are hopelessly in love with and does unreasonable sacrifices for her love time n again - my hunch a month back sprouted from this know-how - the moment I saw how commited Ani was to get Arshi back on her feet n stage, seeing it as a way to unburden his guilt, was the day I predicted yeh J se sacrifice mangega - turns out 2 + 2 is 4 !

It would not surprise me, if we find Ani asking J to sacrifice something precious in the future and J happily doing it for him ! Bbas aise hi hai yeh do characters ! Growth ki umeed toh na hai !

And while yeh pseudo feminism ka daud 1950's, 60's, 70's, 80's ko suit karta hoga , I did not realise it still strikes a chord with audience in 2024

Compelling story telling would have been, if you strived to go against the flow n tried something new, original n unique - not to be - in a iTV set up where the story should pan out with a target of 1000 epi s - plus easy TRPs kill creativity and make the writers lazy !

In most relationships , one partner is a giver and the other is a taker - the giver and taker role swap depending on the situation they find themselves in ! In this case, one of them will be the taker and the other the giver - most times.

Qki jis haq se Ani aake J se kuchh bhi maangta hai , be it come with me on a bday date, cook Mudur Pulao for me or sacrifice the trophy for Arshi - aise haq have not seen him jatao with Arshi ever !

Similarly for J, she will willingly give her life for him, with not so much of an ouch , haste haste, with out a flicker of thought on Sirji ne mere sath kya anyay kiya hai - it's not to chukao any ehsaan, it's coz she is hopelessly, selflessly and unconditionally in love with Ani - and she will never be able to 'unlove' her Sirji, no matter the atrociites Ani gifts her with ! - And this will not sit well with us, will be difficult to digest and might leave a bad taste in our mouth but you might want to excuse them with aise hi hai yeh - else Hajmola could help too

I hope AK remains a well wisher and does not fall in love with J, J will not be able to reciprocate or do justice to his feelings !

AK's dialog today that he only wants someone who can give their full heart was a banger.

The makers put it in there for a reason. Either he will turn negative later or there is a chance J will fall for him like Mr Bajaj....

The show is currently interesting now they have leveled out Ani and J, one is not weaker than the other.

Another surprise today is J knows so much abt Arshi didi and how she is treating Ani ...hmmmm. So the J in Bh was not so innocent after all. I like the new J very much!
