Perhaps working in law enforcement might have made me dystopian but I'm trained to be orderly.

I'm amazed without experiencing any racial or religious abuse you can fluently talk about islamophobia and successfully suppress FOS of others in here, appreciate if mods can pay attention and clarify this is in compliance with their terms of usage.

I've shared my own daughter's experience, she's been moral policed by few of her classmates(Muslim girls) saying how not wearing a legging on a warm sunny day is haram in Islam. All I could tell the 6 year old girl is Muslims may have such restrictions, don't think about it much. Also recently when she began her secondary school I briefed her how she might have classmates wearing hijaab and how she shouldn't talk about it for the sake of being offensive. I'm sure the Muslim mums might not have time to sensitise their children about what to talk and what not to talk. Also my friend's son in London was being told he'll not be friends with 2 girls in his class If his name is Ram, because there's no difference between Raheem and Ram but they can't talk with someone who has Ram as their name. Unfortunately the parents dont have the time to go to a court or file a case on this, so I can't prove it, but there's superior quality Muslim activism at school level, in the below guardian article.

https://www.theguardian.com/education/2024/apr/16/london-school-katharine-birbalsingh-prayer-rituals-ban-not-unlawful-high-court

Generalisation isn't islamophobia, but creating an environment of fear for the people of a specific religious belief, forcing them to not open up and speak out for the fear of retribution is called islamophobia. Not being able to display or express their faith amounts to islamophobia, according to the religious ethics and behaviour I was being taught and trained as part of my job.

Also not sure about your location and If you've any complaint you can always discuss and try to amicably resolve or complain to the mods privately but revealing individuals personal details like name is against EU GDPR regulations.

Agree PAKI is a derogatory term used upon all the brown people Indians including.

Finally marches aren't a commonplace or a means of expressing FOS, especially when it has a chance of inflaming tensions and social disorder. It can disturb the communal peace and harmony of a place. There's a need to take permission from the police for a march, requiring the organisers to sign for compliance.

Uhm, and how did you derive that I myself haven't been at the receiving end of racism? If you read my post properly then me talking about us brown folks being called 'paki'and 'curry monster' would have been indication enough to comprehend that I have been at the receiving end of it too.But it seems like you are cherry-picking what you wish to comprehend and putting words in my mouth.

In the era I was at school, racism towards coloured folks was at its peak.It was bad,it was major.

We as kids had to watch our backs going out to play in the fear of being mobbed and racially abused by the neighbourhood white kids. There was this one time my brother got bottled over the head by some white kids in just going to the corner shop just to get some bloody milk.

And mind you, back then, political correctness wasn't even a thing like it is now. These days you'd get pulled up for the slightest of things so you got to be careful what you say and how you word things.

However,I have not experienced being dictated to by my fellow Muslim pupils on what to wear and what not to wear and how to dress accordingly to them.

And the other thing was,I was never brown enough for the brown ppl and not white enough for the whites, so in most scenarios in my childhood days growing up, I found myself to be quite a misfit in group setups.

I never wore hijab as a kid, and I still don't wear one, so this ideology that a hijab is a must has never sat well with me. It should be left to a matter of choice.I wear what I want and dress how I want.It if isn't modest enough for some, then tough.Deal with it. #MyChoice.

But that does not mean to say I am dismissing or undermining the treatment your daughter has experienced or faced.

The thing is, you have to understand that, that was a different time and this is a different time.Things do change with time and with the way the state of affairs are around the world with all the religious hate spewing, your daughters experience isn't actually that baffling tbh.Religion has become like a serious thing ,whereas before, nobody took it that seriously or practiced that ardently AFAICR.

Now every little thing, every godamn topic becomes religion based.Back in the days, ppl used to face racism more for the colour of their skin than anything else and in today's times it is based more on what religion ,what com you belong to.And this I am saying solely from my own experiences.

So yeah,I wasn't brushing anyone's experiences aside or suppressing anything at all,to me it is just coming across as, you, like some others on this thread are just trying to generalise the Muslim com as the sole bad guys only.

It is not pointing out what crimes Muslims commit ,but it is this generalisation, painting everyone from this one com wirh the same brush that doesn't sit well with me at all.

Also,I don't think it is mandatory for one to have experienced any sort of racial or religious abuse to know, or be able to fluently talk about what Islamophobia is in this day and age.

You saying things like this make it sound all the more like you yourself are trying to brush things aside and overlook and turn a blind eye to the bigotry and Islamophobia that is clearly prevalent on here.

Islamphobia is the hatred for Islam and I clearly see this on here.It is crystal clear.

If you're going to call ppl out for revealing names and stuff, then don't just cherry-pick only one side to be taken to task, call out the other party too. I am sure you can very clearly see this newbie ID is attacking and getting personal, so let's not be that ignorant now, ehh?!

Distressing images of Hindu temple desecrated, people lynched, aritists attacked, women wailing in pain, people lynched brutally, have come in the last few days. Knowing that it may not happen in near future, yet hoping against hope that things improve for people in general and Hindus in particular in Bangladesh. Hope India is able to render help and do something for these ophaned children of partition who never chose it at first place.

India can’t help when a country declares its laws to be Islamic and the vast majority start killing the minorities around them

I don't know what India can do at this point of time. May be the authorities know better. But hopefully something. Something more than statements. Perhaps they can liberalize CAA. Unfortunately, even that can't happen without a huge hue and cry. There is no point of attacking Hindus whatsoever, but then it is not new either, be it in a full fledged islamic republic or at places where the population of Hindus / non muslims dwindle. Kashmir, Bengal, Bangladesh, Pakistan - Same Story. :(

It’s a shame the world isn’t screaming “Eyes on Bangladesh”. And users here trying to distribute their fake childhood stories as if that matters more than the killing of minorities taking place in Bangladesh

Well it is for the intelligence and law enforcement agencies to see that it doesn't happen. India is morally responsible for these people. However, it's the political dispensation and the full time protestors who will not let this happen.

Downplaying and denying such attacks is so inhumane, but even that is not new. Thanks to social media, today we have video footage and victim testimonies so diverting attention from such instances is difficult now. While it is true that poltical persecution is also happening in Bangladesh, which also should not happen; attacks on Hindus is happening since centuries and has no rational reason to it except that finishing them off is a religious duty. No expectation from the hypocrite world, except that India should rise and should be able to take stand for Hindus. No one else will.

This is how the unprovoked violence against Hindus is justified world over. NYT is a shameless leftshit rag spewing propaganda. But, if you call it out you're labeled a bigot and youknowwhatphobic.

Everything is rolled back and rightfully people must be in their houses celebrating their new found freedom or must get on with other work.. Why are they threatening and torching other people, their properties and buildings is something highly bothering.. They have army police everybody.. Just like how we have 144 or emergency system don't they have any rules which will prohibit people on streets ? Don't they fear anybody? Or their own God? How will they face their God having killed someone?

She protects her children fiercely and will not spare anybody inflicting pain upon her children aka residents but if none worships or calls the mother it's cutting off the root of nourishment.

💯

This is a cultural genocide, some said that only Hasina's supporters are targeted, which temple and deity came out in open to support Hasina?? How many children, old and middle aged people opposed the protests?? No one, but they went on to destroy temples and breaking idols, they killed people, they raped womens (and the most shameful part is most of the people calling this fake, a propaganda and laughing at their plight are women, and then they call themselves as the saviour of humanity by supporting Palestine).

And the people there aren't just breaking temples, they even forcefully took the possession of cremation grounds and are turning it into a graveyard, destroying the base of a culture, burning dead bodies have been given too much importance in Sanatan and those people aren't even considering this?? It is not just Hindu genocide, but humanity is butchered as a whole.

Killing a 6 year old or a 8 year old or attacking someone just because you support a different political party or ideology is the most unfortunate thing that can occur in today’s world.

A world which our ancestors have fought and lost their lives to build.

All lives matter just not Hindu or Muslim or Sikh or Christian.

Humanity as a whole is butchered.

Why not?? When all the communities are given the rights to talk about the atrocities against them then why can not we call a genocide of a culture, of a heritage and of a particular religious community, a genocide?? Now we can't have this right too?? When it is happening in Palestine, it's ethnic cleansing but when it's happening to Hindus, let's not talk about Hindus, it's not a genocide of a particular community.

Do you guys even want to acknowledge the fact that it's happening and it’s happening for only one reason? That is their religion?? These people are being killed not because they are human but because they are Hindus.

Call a religious genocide a religious genocide only, why to hide the truth?? Cause its portrays a certain community in a bad light or what??

It is a genocide of hindus and we will call it as it is.
