I would not like to believe that he..doesnt understand that he failed to protect Jhanak... whatever his reasons was... earlier he wanted to keep Jhanak around him...as he was sure ki woh bacha lega usse...but this time he doesn't have that confidence on himself...He knows he has... failed somewhere wrt Jhanak as well.....he said in his monologue as well...that he wasn't there with her as well...and he realises that

Though Jhanak got saved..but may be he internalised that guilt.... inside him..

There is no reason for him to behave irrationally as he had already realized his mistake last time and had apologized....Yes he might be worried for her safety around Jhanak for sure
