You know Dii, Consent is not a STATIC thing....it changes with time and circumstances. In the beginning, both didn't feel consent in their marriage to so they didn't accept it....but over time they realized that they were indeed in love with eachother or their feelings grew at least and that is when consent came into the equation....then only marriage had their consent in their heart and that is when it gained validity in their eyes which it didn't have before. Though they did not do anything.....to protect the shaadi...but nothing was forced to anyone from either side...

Even when Ani had valued this wedding ,he never forced Jhanak to accept it....

That worked against them in marriage annulment time only

And that is why this relationship blossomed MUTUALLY and grew into the deep bond it became later...
