Love you put it in perspective.
You are correct! Moral conflict is the center of all the problems. Until that is resolved they will not move the story by themselves ...
Yes they are not exploring childhood trauma, especially in case of Ani, the need to please people... if they do people will relate to that character much more.
The answer to when they will actually take interest in the future ... I have been thinking about that too...
A bigger moral conflict needs to arise for the current one to become insignificant ...
So to me, the answer is another moral conflict
What that might be? Can be several things...
Jhanak being harmed by arshi
Ani being harmed by Arshi / Shristi
Ani's emotional breakdown
An accidental physical intimacy between Jhanak and Anirudh (not thinking till the consummation stage but something)
These are the things that come to my mind... But obviously,
the biggest one is this one ๐
Makers choice
Something needs to happen that liberates them... or make them come face to face with their feelings so they can't run anymore
I feel unless both Ani and Jhanak feel the people around them don't care for them as much as they care for each other, or themselves... they are not going to change. Both can't be more different from each other when it comes to making decisions but their nature can't be more same. Both have childhood trauma, need to please people and make everyone happy, put others before them, and have very compassionate hearts and that is their biggest weakness ... they are very human , too good of human beings surrounded by not great humans
I am also waiting for the day when they will do things by themselves , but its not going to come anytime soon... one track one outcome , lets see what Mumbai gives us
nice post ViraSome quick thoughts
1)To me the greatest conflict in this story is the moral conflictโฆ. other sub plots may lend some token support but will not take the centre stage.
2)The childhood trauma and attendant need to please is a weak parallel theme and not entirely explored in this storyโฆ. I donโt think the PH has the ability to go that route because it requires greater degree of sensitivity to portray such themes.
I have been thinking how will this conflict move forward.
the narrative gives no indication that the two will take any steps to resolve it.
the lack of much urgency and resetting with no focus on the leads also lends into that belief..
So, as i read your post, it makes perfect sense to me, the narrative will move to fate, destiny effectively resolving the underlying moral problems conflictโฆ.
having said that, fate would like these two to at least look a bit interested in their future ๐๐ kitna kaam destiny karega? ๐๐ kuch toh Runak bhi karein!!
exactly ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐
Haan na!
...
Stylist ko kya hgya hn..and face bhi ajeeb lagta hn kbhi kbhi bcz hair play a significant part too na..
in Jhanak's words...
Unaka "safar" hota hai ๐
yes they chose to give her jhadu pocha instead!!

Simple Maths: Nothing else is more important to their relationship than honest and proper communication. However, the makers are deliberately avoiding communication, which could lead to further misunderstandings.
No morality or anything else hinders their love relationship except for the lack of heart to heart communication ๐ฏ
....
Both are ready to accept each other except for the fact that they think the opposite of each other's feelings.
Jhanak wants Ani to be clear about his commitment, whereas Ani wants Jhanak to confess first so he can break everything off.
This is a perfect if-else scenario that is the key culprit here.๐คฌ
Aur 'safar' hamesha 'humsafar' k sath hota hai! โฅ๏ธ
....
Aur inky chahat ke safar me, hamara suffer chal raha h! ๐
Morality does hinder though ...
In the eyes of Jhanak Anirudh is to-be husband of his sister
In the case of Anirudh, he has given commitment to Arshi... his family has already accepted Arshi as their daughter-in-law.
They are not communicating because of this moral conflict. Both of them lack the courage to face it and speak about it openly! So far we have not seen an outburst of honesty from either of them. They always talk in riddles. The confession from Anirudh was a way to outlet his feelings and just make one last good memory with Jhanak...
Communication is also an issue but moral conflict is the biggest one and that is what's leading to lack of communication , MUs and well everything else
How ani likes to put it.... I am so so confused ๐
