Priya, you wrote it so well..
But most things which you write about Jhanak's character her living conditions even when her mom was there , Anirudh all have been addressed and I had written long post in other EDT and about this dusri aurat and his behaviour now in this EDt itself ....
Dusri Aurt I had written in that days epiosde itself....
I am really feeling hard to type again same things.
He may be older and shown powerful in his family .I agree .But how does that make him emotionally strong . His monologue of I dont have Himmat shows how weak Anirudh is from within . Till Jhanak entered his life I dont think he might have faced situations where had to take life risking decisions .His life was smooth. His fear might be what he is hiding through his anger. How he shouts at them in his anger. But when it comes to taking a huge decision of accepting Jhanak has his wife infront of all he might have feared with no one on his side , might have fallen weak , not even Jhanak.. Had she accepted atleast to him that she valued him and the relation he would have got that much required Himmat to fight for them .
He had most of the time fought for her respect with the family ..many a times ... Arshi existed for long time as he never realised he is in love with Jhanak and the marriage they had done was based on promise ....till now both of them have kept that promise . She was the one who was adamant on Arshi didi ..
But I still feel having shown him as a character who could go against his family would have broken his marriage and also taken the responsibilty of marriage if she had owned it atleast to him....
Also during the Kashmir garland scene they had shown him so clearly how much he loves his family and was ready to go ahead with the marrige sacrificing himself .... He is a simple human being with a lot of emotions...
Few things as what you wrote is all from the start of the show and needs to connect from there and write ...so what I write might look odd and disconnected as I didnt want to write all those again.
Anirudh is a complicated softie, who does not know what true love is. He only knows that to experience love one has to give a lot and one has to be responsible. Because in so many important relationships of his life , people have expected impossible things out of him for him to receive love from them. Every time they needed him to show up for them, and sacrifice for them...
I don't think he had ever behaved like that with his parents and family the way he did after Jhanak's coming into his life..
During The Kashmir half wedding... with Arshi, he just looked around and saw everyone's happy face...& then he went on in his suicidal mission....
I think he is in love with the concept of family & parents.. and craves for it...Somewhere deep down he knows he is not the part of that core yet and he is trying too hard to be included. He never want to believe they are using him..
May be.Jhanak's love confession would have humbled him to the point of realisation that there was someone in the world who would love him no matter what, a thought that had always been foreign to him, which in turn probably given him courage to stop the wedding...who knows...
But Jhanak is also not a normal manic-pixie girl..she is a real person..with her own traumas and insecurities...she is going through soo much on her own...
But things got complicated for both of them...They handled it with such immaturity and childishness...
But both are good human being with some flaws and stuck in terrible situations..
