Apmaan fans are trying hard to prove that though Anuj loves Aadya but he can't marry as per her wishes while the reality is that he is simply obsessed with Aadya and doesn't understand his responsibilities towards her. He is not at all a "family man". He simply gets obsessed with people around him and can go to any length to get them in his life but eventually his permanent obsession with "Meri Anu" triumphs over his other relations.

Even during Maya fiasco,he was upset over CA's sudden departure and followed her to Mumbai but once Pakhi reignited his Anupama obsession,he was ready to dump CA with Maya (that too after being fully aware of her mental state) and was planning to return back to Meri Anu. That's not how a mature man behaves. Instead of confronting Anupama,he was dilly-dallying in his thoughts with her.

It was Anupama who discarded him and his daughter like trash and walked away over an argument which left CA traumatized and scarred for life. He met Shruti during his lowest and found solace in her. Any sane person would have remained grateful and accepted Shruti wholeheartedly but his Anupama obsession once again ruined everything. Anuj should be declared unfit for adoption. The authorities should take stringent action against him. Moreover,he urgently needs psychiatric help. He should be admitted to a rehab. He is a mental patient.

Adoption itself was hasty and not permissible considering the duration of marriage. Probably involved a lot of money and underhand dealings. Yes, he should be institutionalised for life.
