Maybe normal depression can be handled as how you said (Bold), but sometimes you experience this vast sense of emptiness that just leaves a void in you. Things that you love, new things you try... none help. That is what clinical depression is. Sometimes, your mind is attracted to the same things you experience (red) as a way of reaffirmation. It's kind of difficult to explain.

Green- I get it. I really do. You remind me of the notion I have heard from Telugu people (my colleagues) that they don't even like sad endings because it is too realistic, and entertainment isn't meant to be that way. But the way they showed unaliving attempts in this show is not how I would want them to show anything mental health related at all. If you show something have the spine to show it correctly. It isn't always possible to have lighthearted scenes all the time if you want relatability. Human lives have both sad and happy moments, and they should show them both.

If it is expected that characters behave realistically, then isn't it also within expectations that they break down and show depression as a real person would?

Bold- Telugu please let me know if this is true or not. I only repeated what my colleagues said lol.

No no no ...its not like that .

The daily life incidents I dont categorise them into depression. We dont get depressed when something goes wrong in a day . We become sad and at that time all this diversion of shopping , watching movies , songs work .

Like you said its very difficult to explain, specially to write and explain.

I am not speaking of life being happy always . No.

Life is a mixture of so many emotions .And I feel happiness being the short lived as human being are mostly not satisfied with whatever they get.

I am not always looking for hapy ending in shows and not among those who cant handle tragic or sad end for a story.

I always love emotional scenes .I have enjoyed all the painful and sad scenes in this show. And if end is happy its gives extra happiness.

I personally feel the daily soaps dont intent to show such deep things , blame it on trp or even my type of audience . The sadness in a monologue are just surface dialogues .Its we who discuss it and find more meaning to many dialogues and situations and even the character analysis .

I feel they show the surface level in daily soaps .

That is what I was trying to tell.

I think you didn't get my point yaar. I got all you said. Infact, I don't look into ITV for such content, there are better content in OTT or ones outside India for that.

Not blaming it on you or TRP, it's just the nature of things. smiley20

I just wish they wouldn't show such topics in an insensitive light. Especially Unaliving attempts. It's not a pretty picture. It's a triggering topic for me seeing J yesterday. Because I myself was once that way and my pain was acute seeing her. smiley19

Haha I get it, sometimes sad endings are too much for me to take either.

I want happy endings too. Ironic that my favorite tale is "A little mermaid" and not "Beauty and the Beast". smiley37
