I dont mind it if it is not related to Ammu - another way and plan of humiliating her etc. If it is a love story that runs in parallel sometimes and independently, fine. Negative hai to its senseless.

Rajeev didn't force her to marry. Gautam didn't continue with his plan of using Amruta. Virat did both and more. Yet... he is her destined guy .... well... Rajeev is Nimmi's destined guy too... and Priyanka was destined for Virat too.

I've seen people like that in real life. What we perceive as stupidity, they see as unconditional love. There's a girl who married a wealthy boy known for being a womanizer. After marriage, he quickly turned abusive, even while she was pregnant, once tried to suffocate her with a pillow. He even blamed her for his girlfriend's abortion, claiming she caused it because she didn't agree to a divorce. Eventually, he kicked her out with their few-month-old baby. Despite everything, she claims she still loves him and cries whenever she sees him. She's never filed a police complaint against him. It's not that she's uneducated, it's her heart that makes her stay.

I think it is some kind of psychological disorder.

These situations make me less surprised when I see similar abusive relationships portrayed in shows, because they sadly exist in reality.

Priyanka... yeah... he was destined to go through a relationship with her. people are destined to stay single, marry someone, or multiple times. de-romanticising 'destiny'.

Todays scene I felt he is faking it... as in, he wants to make her love him again... and then abuse her again. with him... its quite possible.

Yeah. And I wont have any complaints about this show too if that is how they had promoted it. [Cant complain how abusive Viraj Dobriyal is... that's the theme of the show. Up to me if I want to watch it - and I haven't yet gone beyond ep 1.]

"Sona kyu? Heera kyu nahi?" sounds good... until the Heera does things and speaks. "Independent"... and how is she now?

About the other post: yes. Virat's drunk scene.

Edit: Rooting for 'AmVira' now seems like rooting for that person you mentioned to end up with the same guy.

They say art imitates life, but the other way round is also true. What we see on screen influences us to lead our life that way.

When for decades you portray female leads being tortured in every relationship and yet they never crib or complain (only allowed to cry) and always the first to forgive and forget, it slowly seeps into the psyche of the society as the benchmark of women. Women are portrayed as rehab centres for men. The man can be rude, arrogant, selfish and what not but it is the woman who.will transform him and bring him back to the right path.

Sadly, this is far from reality. Habits can be changed, not the core values. When women try to live upto these unrealistic standards set by TV shows, they are bound to fail.

And if a woman dares to raise her voice against abuse or oppression and calls out the hypocrisy, she is branded as difficult. They blame the woman of being stubborn and adamant and incapable of handling her relationships.

That's the reason why it is so important to show strong female characters on screen who set an example for the young gals watching it. It is equally important to represent real men on screen who can set an example on what it is to be a green flag.

Perhaps only then we will start having matured audiences who clearly understand the distinction between abuse and romance. Currently abuse is portrayed as romance in every show. The problem is men recreate the same abuse in real life and women confuse it as romance and stick around. What a mess! 😞 😞
