Anirudh first time being selfish explicitly asking Janak for himself. In stead of telling she will be unsafe and alone, he is telling he will be alone with out her. This is a big progression so far. He has acknowledged his emotional attachment or dependency with her.

I would like to believe that this is similar to the Saraswati Puja act that he is pulling off now !

Playing his cards well , he knows him being sick could make J accept whatever condition he places in front of her ! He 'needs' J and he needs to see that she is safe !

I would not mind the manipulation, given that he is still attempting to build RuNak one way or the other as opposed to J, who is hell-bent on ruining RuNak since she is confused as hell !

But if the makers try to ruin Ani's character in the process to re-instate/glorify J, I would be disappointed !

Also possibly because we would still have to go through the impending Kolkata wedding with Ai Buro Bhaat, Gaa e Holud etc. so Ani is still in denial and on his endless journey to eventually realise his love for J! And J claims her rights and breaks the wedding coz by then Ani convinces her to accept the wedding!

Also, whether we like it or not every time Ani gets spurned by J, Arshi will be relevant in his zahan, till he totally accepts that he loves J and not Arshi anymore !

It is the protector and the mentor/enabler that kinda takes precedence over the lover boy - his priorities are skewed, needs to be "sort desc(ending)" instead of "sort asc(ending)"

Ani is still in denial mode & so is Jhanak. So they will keep playing this zimmedari/ insaaniyat game every time they will come close from now on.
One barrier broken with this hug. I am guessing there will be a lot more touching coming in future episodes. At least we all can be happy that their social distancing is ending
