If you can recall we had a discussion about Munna turning against Rehmati isn't properly justified yet. I think the phone talk is an entry to support that. Writer wants Munna to be the overall good guy who can't betray his Bara Bhai only for love but would need more than that for doing so. This seems to me a step in that direction.

Yes quite possible. But then is it only to turn Munna completely against Rehmati or there is more to it. I think Munna might use it against Rehmati, not now maybe later to come out of the clutches of Rehmati and the bigwigs.

Rehmati might also feel that Munna is a liability now and hence he will order the hit on Munna. This can also trigger Munna off.
