Yogi has does a lot for us

A person I know was heartbroken yesterday. He is from Gorakhpur and family lives in Rajasthan. He lives in South. We just asked why r u so supportive of BJP. He said he has seen the condition of his states earlier and the difference made at ground level now.

sadly the voting public doesn’t acknowledge this

Does that enable govt to play favorities and send more money. Well they have that discretion anyways. So what exactly do they get when announcing it as a special state ? Legally something written in constitution ?

Like in US when facing a Calamity, they announce special emergency for state and that gives them certain benefits per the laws. Sometimes gives them special allocation for tax free bonds etc also.

Constitution doesn't have a provision for it. It was done by National Development Council in the 1960s to pay special attention to border sensitive states with hilly terrains and high backward or tribal population. Now, the central government decides on it after suggestions from the Finance Commission and now it stands abolished with the exception of NE and three hilly states. Uttarakhand was the last state to get a special status in 2001.

Centre provides 90% funds to special states in case of central infra projects as against 75% to other states. Remaining is paid by state governments. Moreover, special category states also get concessions in taxes.

Now that it stands abolished, Finance Commission has advised the centre to raise the state share of tax receipts by 10% to bridge the gap in resources.

On the other hand my Mumma is bjp suppoter from starting as her family was into politics, her dadaji and Raj Nath Singh ji were close acquaintances back in the days

So main bachpan se Gandhi family se bahut fascinated thi as sab accha hi suna tha, and bjp was just a small party for me as mummy ko politics mei utna intrest nahi tha

I had went to Gujarat in 2013-13 and the city bhavnagar was amazing and co incidentally tab waha Modi ji rally kar rahe the and maine unki speech suni thi jo mujhe bilkul samjh nahi aayi thi as it was in gujratismiley36but waha rehne waale mere relatives sab unki tareef kar rahe the and pura credit unhone Gujarat ki development ka Modiji ko hi diya tha. To main bhi bahut hooked thi

And in 2014 jab "hum Modiji ko laane waale hai, acche din aane waale hai" slogan came I believed it whole heartedly ❤️❤️

BJP was it for me because uske pehle electricity in UP, bombings in Maharashtra mere 9th class waale dimaag ke liye main mudda tha and Modiji actually tackled it

Bhavnagar is next to a city where my mom was born so been there so many times.

what he did for Gujarat is simply amazing. And gujjus are amazing entrepreneurs. So it was a perfect match. I have so many stories of entrepreneurs who have met with him when he was CM about projects and how he handled it. Starting with things like 7:00 am meetings and him being on time / early and fully prepared. Etc.

The most impressive was that he made the beauraucrats work. Restaffed them. Ensured they show up for work ..maintain clean offices etc etc. and then results start flowing …

As I said. Respect is earned and he has earned it for me …

P.s. you sure had an interesting childhood with parents voting for different parties. :). Democracy at its best :)

I'm disillusioned but it can't be denied that Modi got our generation interested in politics. In 2019 I was so excited as a first time voter for LS polls. smiley36

Special status will aid in getting investments starting industries . People/ institutions who come forward will get tax benefits from centre and state.

More investments mean more economic growth and job opportunities for the people of the state.

In fact Modi diverted some MNCs which were coming to Andhra to Gujarat. So Andhra people have no love or respect for Modi or his BJP.

Thanks to Andhra people's enterprsing nature it is still among the better performing states in the country. But going by South standards it is still lagging behind.

B- this investment didn't came in Kashmir due to special status only but AP mei borde tension bhi nahi hai so it could be beneficial as well.

I have to read more about this, I have very less knowledge on this

Thanks for insights

H
abolished ? Meaning provision abolished. They will need to re establish it for Bihar and AP? if that’s what it takes to keep them in NDA so be it. It’s still better than khataaa khat bankruptcy of exchequer.
