Hi Mridzy,
I am due on reading things here.. will soon catch up and comment one by one.
Thanks Anu - yea, do let me know what you thought on each part. 🤗
@starship - sorry forgot tagging you. Part 5 posted now. :)
Just bringing this up to gauge interest. I know most of us are pissed off with the makers and the very low possibility of RuNak right now! 😁
Would you guys like for me to continue this story? I had originally planed for this to be 10/12 parts, but depending on interest, can look to complete it in the next 3 parts!
Let me know! :)

I completely missed that you updated a chapter. Sorry lol!
I want to take my time to read your story from the start this weekend and give you my opinions. But please continue to write! Awesome work!

Ha ha! No worries! Take your time and when you do read, let me know what you thought!
Eager to know your opinions! ♥️
I'm trying to update, but the next part is kinda tricky! Have an idea and trying to get it done in the next part itself to move the story in the direction I want it to move. Let's see how it turns out! 😁😁
Thanks for commenting Anusha! Take your time and looking forward to your thoughts whenever you can read and post.
Hi Everyone!!
This part has been sitting in my drafts for so long, finally happy to update! I'll be honest, I started this part with a completely different idea/intention, but as I wrote, it took a completely different tangent
This one focuses on Jhanak's POV, so please do tell me what you guys thought after reading this as your views will help how I mould the story from here.
Hope you all enjoy, and see you at the bottom

PART 6
Jhanak wrung her hands together - it had been almost 15 minutes since sir ji had left to Mimi's room. He probably thought she did not care about the gifts she had received.
She still remembered the day she had performed on stage - how alive she had felt doing that. The thunderous applause, the happiness that had spread through her, reviving her. And she had received that trophy and a hamper - she had been elated.
Then they had come back, and Mimi had taken all her gifts from the event, including her trophy - she had been very sad, she just did not want any further troubles for herself, so she had let go.
She had quickly learnt that the best thing she could do for herself was not to expect anything and accept everything the Bose's threw her way. So when the Bose's youngest daughter had taken away all the symbols of her success, she told herself that it was because it didn't belong to her - neither the success nor the gifts.
A lone tear slid down her cheek and she wiped it off, " That's right, Jhanak" she told herself, knowing fully well that the walls she had put around herself was the only thing which stopped her from crumbling, " You're an orphan, the daughter of a maid. All you need to exist is food, shelter and clothes which the Boses give you - you don't need anything else"
Anirudh froze outside Jhanak's room - her sullen voice and the words she had just said falling like hammers to his heart. The empty hamper and the trophy in hands felt suddenly immeasurably heavy, and he leaned on the wall for support.
Exist - that was all she was doing now - that was all she wanted to do - just exist.
An uncomfortable weight settled in his chest, and Anirudh had to blink to push away the tears that were quelling in his eyes.
What was he doing?
Not enough.
His lifted the trophy, his eyes falling to the empty space in the trophy where Jhanak's name plate should have been.
He looked at the empty hamper, with the torn envelopes which should have had all the vouchers he had put in, and her words reverberated in his ears again
"You're an orphan, the daughter of a maid. All you need to exist is food, shelter and clothes which the Boses give you - you don't need anything else"
His heart clenched with each syllable his mind recalled, stabbing his conscience. How had he been blind to the pain in her eyes? No, he hadn't been blind, he had convinced himself that he was doing the right thing by telling her to ignore the taunts and insults so that she could focus on her studies, and eventually ensure a good life for herself.
But he should have known better.
He should have known that what she had been subject to in this house had stripped her of her own dreams, aspirations and desires - and he had been party to it.
His eyes dropped to the void where her name plate should have been in the trophy, and he just could not shake off the sinking feeling of disappointment - with himself.
Damnit!
It wasn't just about the trophy and the vouchers; it was the blatant disregard for her as a human being in the Bose house.
But not anymore. Putting the trophy down inside the hamper, he shifted it to one hand while pulling out his phone with the other.
Strengthened by resolve to do the right thing, the right way, he texted Chotton, turning to his uncle as he always had when he needed support and guidance
****
Jhanak glanced at the closed door - deciding she could not wait any longer, she pushed the covers down and tried to move her legs off the bed slowly, her ankle throbbing with even a small movement.
With gritted teeth, she focused on putting one foot in front of the other, moving slowly, but determined to keep moving despite her pain.
Just as she had taken a couple of steps, her ankle gave out beneath her and she stumbled forward.
"Aaah" she yelped, throwing her hands out, bracing for the fall, trying to reduce the impact. But before she could hit the ground, strong arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her upright with surprising gentleness.
She landed with a soft thud against his chest, finding herself staring into Sir ji's eyes, as she felt the heat radiating from his skin, and try as she might, a sensation she could not ignore.
Irritated with herself that she was so acutely aware of his presence beside her, she decided to focus her energy on her aching feet as she tried to press it down on the floor. As soon as she had done that, her ankle buckled and her hands, by their own accord, flew to his shoulders as she swayed on the spot.
"Jhanak!" Anirudh scolded, his voice laden with worry, "kya kar rahi ho? I told you to stay put and rest that ankle. Kabhi toh mere baat sun liya karo"
Jhanak looked up into his dark browneyes which were looming with equal parts worry and annoyance - actually the annoyance triumphed the worry now, and she could not help but frown " I need to use the bathroom" she mumbled, the colour rushing to her cheeks," and I can walk Sir ji, you can let me go now" she insisted, though even she didn't fully believe her own words, her gaze dropping down to her swollen ankle.
If Sir Ji was embarrassed by what she had just said, he did not show it, " I can see how you're walking. Ab chup raho and let me help you" he said firmly, and one look into his eyes told her that he was not arguing about this.
Her mind was screaming at her that this would only create more troubles for her - that she could not let sir ji help her.
Why, Jhanak? What are you so scared of?
Arrey, If Aunty aur Bipasha didi ever got wind of what Sir Ji was doing to help me, they-
Will say what they want to say whether or not sir ji helps you, so what are you really scared of?
"Will you be able to walk on your other foot?" Sir ji's voice cut through her thoughts, his concern evident in his eyes.
Jhanak hesitated for a moment, feeling the weight of his question bearing down on her. With a deep breath, she nodded reluctantly.
"Yes, sir ji," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll manage."
Anirudh studied her for a moment, his gaze searching hers to ensure that she would not hurt herself more by limping on the other foot. With a gentle nod, he shifted his weight to better support her, tightening his arm around her, guiding her forward with careful steps.
With each step they took in tandem, Jhanak found herself repeatedly glancing up at him.
As they reached the bathroom door, Jhanak could not help but heave a sigh of relief, "Thanks, Sir Ji" she said, her voice soft with gratitude.
As Jhanak inadvertently placed weight on her injured ankle, a sharp, throbbing pain shot up her leg. Instinctively, Anirudh's arms flew out to steady her, his fingers curling over her biceps for support. With a deep breath, she adjusted her stance, trying to avoid putting pressure on her injured ankle.
"Careful!" he cautioned, his voice filled with concern as she winced in discomfort, "Take it easy. I am outside if you need anything...."
Need Anything?
" I won't be needing anything" she mumbled, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she turned around, carefully wobbling into the bathroom and shutting the door behind her.
In the quiet solitude of the bathroom, Jhanak took a deep breath, the pools of concern in Sir Ji's eyes still lingering in her mind.
She didn't want him to be concerned for her, she didn't want him to go out of his way for her. That would only mean one thing - problems. She cared less about the problems it would bring her - No, she was more concerned about the problems it brought him - try as she might, she could not shake off the feeling that her being here had only turned Sir Ji's life for the worse.
A tear escaped her, trailing down her cheek as she fought against the overwhelming sense of guilt.
Every time he had tried to help her, she had pushed him away with this intention, convinced that she was only causing him trouble.
And yet, despite her best efforts to keep her distance, she found herself drawn to him.

Part 7 - Coming Up:
"Marr kyun nahi jaati tum?" The venom in her voice was unmistakable, and Anirudh couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Arshi!" It took him a moment to recognize his own voice, as he had never felt so angry before.
Anirudh's hands clenched into fists as he stared at Arshi, the woman he thought he was going to marry, in disbelief. He had never seen this side of her before, the cruelty in her words cutting deeper than any physical wound.
Anirudh's fists relaxed as he took a step forward, his expression hardening, "Arshi, that's enough," he said firmly, his voice cutting through the tension in the room.
Arshi's eyes widened in surprise at Anirudh's sudden assertiveness, "Yes Ani, bahut ho gaya - that's enough," she spat, her gaze flickering with malice as she turned her attention back to Jhanak.
But before Arshi could make another move, Anirudh stepped between her and Jhanak, shielding her from any further harm. "I won't let you hurt her"

My God… This line made me tear up. You’re always so on point with your dialogues. I missed previous chapter despite checking the thread for update. I adore your story so much… every interaction between “Sir ji” and jhanak seems so fulfilling. The part where Jhanak realises that Boses already treat her worse whatever she does then why not accept lil kindness from the guy who so selflessly proffers his hand everytime she’s down… bulls-eye.
Everytime I visit the forum I look forward to an update from you. I often read your analysis and thoughts in discussion thread and think that you’ve more understanding of Ani’s and Jhanak’s feelings than the writer themselves.
Hope you’re doing well Mridzy… Keep the awesome updates coming
