I think the leads are doing a good job in the scope they have as actors. The character arc is something over which the leads have little control I guess.

They are professionals doing their job

They have seen that chindi episode TRP which was the only episode that got 1.9 while all other episodes without Reewa got 2.3-2.4. So they won't make Ishan marry Reewa coz they know then the show is doomed but they will keep shoving her like this in every episode, Savi being Ishan's wife literally makes no sense but still they are being kept married just for the TRP

Yes, Ishaan is a destroyer while Virat was the protector. The way he stood up for Sai against his family was truly great. Ishaan can never be like Virat.
