It disturbs me how apathetic everyone is about this!

Seems no one was aware what was the problem. University did not tell about jumping off, such incidents no common email is sent.

People found out from news article. I came to know from one of the administrators. It is really sad to see how insensitivity is increasing in the society.

They obviously care more about their image than anyone's life. What else to say about this? Atleast the news portal published it, otherwise institutions like these buy them off and their name is removed beyond the first few prints so noone even finds out where such horrific incidents happened.

It is really distressing to see educated professionals act this way. Is this the lesson you want us to continue to take, that pretence matters more than integrity?! 😐

When such tragic suicides get highlighted, people point out the numerous problems for a day or two and then move on to the same rat race. Nobody really works on a solution. Eventually, the masses become desensitized to such tragedies.

Unfortunate incident !! This person seemed to be having everything that is conventionally perceived as successful in the society. Wish he had decided to wait longer. If work pressure was more, given his qualification he would have certainly found alternatives. Guess it's difficult to escape when mind plays it's games.. Even the best mind gave up ! :(

I hope medical intervention becomes more accessible and acceptable when things become overbearing. As much as I feel loved ones, family and friends should be there, there may certainly be times when they can falter or one may choose not to open upto them. In those times counseling and other means may help.

It is indirectly normalised by having primetime debates and rationalising how the person could have done a-b-c without context, instead of thinking of why the person had to go to the extent of choosing the last resort. And yes, at the end of the day, we become accustomed to looking after our own livelihoods than sitting and questioning the system.

You're so right! But tbh, it is not that easy to find a job even if you work for a firm like McKinsey, talking from personal experience. More than degrees, it matters 'who' you know who can get you those other opportunities. Gets harder if you are an introvert or neurodiverse. Yes, I also wish mental health issues should become less of a tabboo and getting the right medical support becomes affordable and possible at some point for those who need it the most!

Would have completely agreed with you, if his colleagues did not put out social media posts talking about the toxic work culture in that office too (its on my FB since I know 2-3 people there, hence cannot share here for confidentiality). Though yes, at the end of the day, personal issues could very much have attributed to the untimely demise too. No matter what, I think it just makes me wish we had a more considerate world smiley38

We meet all sorts of people at workplace and in the world in general. Its so necessary to be mentally strong. Its like give in or give back but never give up.

We need to look inwards for peace n strength
