Maybe he thinks to himself that one of the way to escape the marriage and get Imlie to confess her “crimes” if she committed any, is to make her believe that he is Agastya with memory loss.

Because when he was pretending to be Agastya’s ghost/atma/fake hallucination, he said “I’m about to marry Binni”. Let’s say he somehow manages to convince her, it would explain Imlie marrying him as in her mind she’d think that it’s her Babu. And then after the marriage, he could reveal that he tricked her for revenge. It would complete the threats he gave her when they met, if the writers haven’t forgotten them.

Now unbeknownst to him, maybe he actually is August Babu. But no matter what this would create tension. Imlie wouldn’t trust him after that and even if he were to actually gain his memory back slowly, she wouldn’t believe him for a good while. After a lot of angst and tashan filled moments, his life could be in danger, he gets his full memory back after another accident. Imlie realizes that it really is her Babu and they have a reunion after a long time.

I’m thinking far but this is the closest thing to a theory my brain can cook up without dubao-ing myself in too much hope.

I am not able to understand why he used the line " I am going to marry binni " If his only motive was to extract imlie confession about Raghu murder. He could have just used the line " imlie speak the truth about Raghu murder ".

By speaking about marriage with binni I think he wants to instigate imlie into thinking him as Agastya and Imlie persuading dadi to not Surya marry binni as in her mind he is her babu. Dadi ki nazar mein imlie aur buri ban jayegi for trying to break the marriage in her delusions.

See if the makers wanted to kill Agastya and make Surya Imlie end game they wouldn't show the below:

1. Agastya do fake marriage with Binni instead of a real one. They had to show Agastya as a bad person so Surya could elevate.

Exactly this . They could have shown Agsatya really marrying binni. It would have been like sari promises Imlie ke sath kiya but ultimately shadi binni ke sath. Because Imlie ka real partner Surya hone Wala hai in future.

2. Imlie ka unending love and devotion for her dead husband even after his death will not let her ever fall for Surya (same face or not).

3. They haven't established Surya as a partner potential. His character is still sketchy. The best way to move to the new jodi was to discredit the old male lead and highlight the good qualities of the new male lead. The makers are not doing this - purposely or unintentionally.

Its being 3 weeks still Surya Imlie didn't get their original song or bgm. Even today Teri meri kahani was played in their scenes . Bani Teri joganiya instrumental is frequently used these days now

4. The injuries on his back and his headaches may leave an opening for him to be Agastya with a memory loss. They didn't show Agastya ka face in the funeral scenes.

The biggest hint. Not revealing the face or showing cremation scene.

5. What was the need to show Imlie married to Agastya if he was going to die immediately after? He could have given her the promise even as her lover na.

Yes. They didn't need to show them as husband wife in Agasthya last moments and once again bring Satyavan Savitri reference. Cliff accident would have happened before they reached temple for their wedding. Agastya ne bola tha shadi ke baad " main tumhara picha nahi chodne wala " is going to be true.

6. Imlie wanted her maang to be filled with pyar ka sindoor. Surya will fill her maang this time but it won't be pyar. Not atleast from her end.

7. A few actions of Surya are very dubious. Yeh log kuch bhi dikhaye I will not believe Surya is a different character and this is not coz I want Agastya back desperately.

8. Gul ke liye it's not difficult to kill one character and move on to a new jodi. They are not going all out with Imlie Surya and are still at the fence of it. Why the hesitation?

Surya Imlie ke sare interaction mein Agsatya ka mention aata hi hai

The story is getting interesting and the old quality of the episodes is back. The focus is on Sai and Addy and such episodes always hold my attention. I hope the trp increases.

yes Sonali will be finally able to move on from Amrit after this kaand. Imlie will definitely support her in this and Surya might too. Surya will try to be the brother that Agastya was.

Something about the way Sai as Surya looked at Imlie during his more flirty era was very dangerous, it’s all in the eyes but it’s very attractive ngl 😅

Whatever be the general storyline, I am glad that at least Agasthya and Imlie are well written characters. And to top it we have brilliant actors as leads. I will always cherish this story

I never expected to fall in love with the characters. Actually the death of Agastya made me value them even more, it brought out another layer to their characters which was more pure. Yeh track nai hota toh mereko itna impact bhi nai karta story.
