The reason the actress(Hemangi) keeps giving in SBB/SBS interviews for Bhavani’s sudden bold avatar is the safety of her daughter as a mother, any harm to a child will bring out the Goddess roop in a mother, so Bhavani is bold now. Plus she also has the blessings of the goddess in her sacred dhaga which she gives Ammu in the precap. So we have to take the above explanation and leave it at that, though it looks out of place. I know mother can go to any extent for their child safety but to such a extreme level of being physical is too much but here they overnight change characters upside down so not surprised.

Though ott, Bhavani's changed avatar makes sense to me. I've seen 'normally weak' people respond in both ways to something really bad happening - some stay helpless as they were (probably even more helpless - generally because they have someone else taking the lead in such situations), some take on a new mode and find courage to deal with it (generally cause there is no one else who can).

So other than the ott thing (going physical specially), which I would attribute to creative liberty here... I find it to be fine. Will be good if she calms down after this though - and not return to normal (that's trouble too) but stay somewhere in between.

One more 'bad' thing about Virat came to mind.. the way he disregards someone's name. Started with Amrita, then Gautam, and both were okay and kind of cute and funny too in that phase... and if he didnt move into the negative avatar.

Then came with the new alliance (used only initials not his name), and the police officer 'badam' for Kadam'... Coming from someone who is specific about his name and chants it a thousand times, pretty bad. [Didn't look bad during the earlier phase.] Kind of fits he said 'AmrUta' quite a few times in the past eps.

Want this new guy to manhandle Virat and mispronounce his name often
