I am loving the role reversal though. Surya doing the name calling 'radha rani ki fangirl' and doing the singing 'hum tum ek kamre mein band' basically everything that Imlie used to do to irritate her August Babu in the past, Surya is doing to his "Yamli" (I think Surya is doing this on purpose calling her incorrectly). Another reason why I believe this is August Babu.....

His Yamli was more in the fun context and didn't feel like stereotyping to me. He keeps oscillating between Imlie (when he is serious) and Yamli (when he wants to annoy her).

Yes that's why I think he is purposefully calling her 'Yamli' because he has at times pronounced her name correctly as well.

What is the next festival that is upcoming that will likely be celebrated/shown in the show? I am sure there will be some bit of the mystery revealed there. Each passing week, we seem to getting hints here and there to make us more hopeful. I feel they build up the drama for the week, and then on Wednesday and Thursday they have not filler type episodes, but episodes which don't have a lot happening/revealing.

They said next week is mahasaptah - mega week. So we should have some good scenes.

Hopefully the media coverage as well will help with increased interest in the show. I have always said, its a shame that online viewership like that of Hotstar etc are not included in the ratings, as shows like Imlie I feel are watched and videos interacted with more online.

I was just discussing this yesterday with a friend. Hotstar works on subscription revenue so they don't care about the revenues there (it is an additional revenue for SP with no additional cost).

The show to be telecast has a cost associated to produce and revenue comes from ads. The revenue from ads are directly linked to trp (which is the current way to monitor how much the show is watched).

So long story short, Imlie needs to show the trp and online viewing doesn't actually matter. They don't care how many people watch the show coz even if a show goes off air, the subscriber stays (to watch other shows).

Anyway, I feel Surya track will work so we should be good in the next weeks.

So true, and this is sad, see I have Star Plus and the likes subscription on TV, but I don't watch on TV as the time the show comes, I am busy putting the little man to sleep, so I watch online. (Although my viewership won't count as I am in the UK, but I'm sure there are people in India which similar schedules)

Yes I think they are building up the suspense adequately, they are revealing bit and pieces slowly and steadily to keep the audience and coming back for more.

This slot has always been the most competitive I think, and the SP shows have always had this issue of having continuous storylines which keep the audience hooked regularly.

There’s Maha Shivratri on March 8th and Holi on March 25th.

Although, sangeet kind of left Imlie’s life since Agastya’s death and the bar set has been dismantled. I’m lowkey hoping we get a scene of Imlie singing Satyam Shivam Sundaram for Maha Shivratri, don’t know if by then she’ll be married to Surya already or not. If she is, then as the bahu, she could sing the aarti for the puja.

We could have a sequence of Surya looking at her mesmerized. Plus August Babu was always entranced by her singing voice, Surya could be too. (Especially if he is Agastya…)

On the topic of music, the recent episode gave me hope that we’re going to have more retro songs again.

Since Agastya and Imlie’s wedding was in private, do y’all think Surya will do a wedding with full rituals so no one can question the validity of their marriage? Or at least, in Chaudhary Nivas, in front of everyone? Or do y’all think he’ll go the chat mangni pat biah route?

Either way, there’s a song I’ve got in mind if they decide to include music somehow. The song Yeh Mehendi Ke Boote from Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai (a movie where a girl, who was once blind, loses the love of her life after gaining her sight. And as she’s about to marry someone else, she finds out her love was alive. She also calls him Babu)

In the song, the main chorus goes: “Mehendi lagaon kis naam ke, Radha toh bani hai bas Shyam ke”. Honestly, a very beautiful song and it would a great way to portray how Imlie is feeling. Since her Shyam has always been and will always be Agastya.

It’s wishful thinking at this point but still wanted to share.

The retro songs are the best, they just hit different and touch the soul
