Nand Nandini approached Chandragupta and he rejected her. Married her only when forced by Chanakya.

Durdhara was his childhood friend and he married her to get a loyal queen who wasn't from enemy family or kingdom.

Helena was his trophy 🏆 , he thought the girl would be adjusting and wouldn't love him, he not for once expected Helena, a young girl to love a guy in his 30s. But opposite happened confusing him. Maybe, but, thing is, I'm Katha Ankahee, Adnan's Scottish, tartan and checkered outfits looked more princely than Ashoka's. I was crushing on him when he wore that Scottish red vest in some of the episodes (the time Shamita falsely accused Viaan).

Seriously popular media gives too much attention to Helena when she doesn't deserve any. She wasn't Agramahishi, not even Mahadevi. She got the title Devia just because she was a princess otherwise a Yavana wouldn't have title of Devi in Antahpura. Helena was never Rajmata at all. She had no power. She was a young girl who was submissive for gains of her own family. As she was a teen and Chandragupta was her first romantic encounter she fell in love. Chandragupta was older and much wiser than his dumb young wife. He didn't engage her in any serious activities. And Bindusara saw her as a friend not as a mom. He saw her as mom of his youngest siblings.😂

So Tivar isn't mentioned in books except Queen's Edict. It is possible he might have gone under another name since he was mentioned in Queen's Edict. Kaurwaki being Ashok's second could be also plausible.

Ashok had many sons. Only those who played significant parts are remembered. Tivala was definitely neither Mahendra nor Kunal. Karu herself is not mentioned in any books and many scholars associate her with Villain Tisyarakshita who initially was just a servant of chief queen

I haven't watched the episode yet. Normally I watch the full episode for entertainment . I sometime ignore Karu's existence whenever her scene appears though I am tempted to mute her scenes
