I think there was some story with Ravan's birth also ki wo Vishnu ji ke hi shayad sevak the and kisi ne to unhe kuch shraap diya tha jiski wajah se unhe har janam mein vishnu ji ke haatho marna tha shraap mukt hone ke liye

I think I have watched it in Mahadev serial

So its not a total surprise its all connected

Yes Vishnu ji had 2 sevaks who were cursed by sages and Vishnu ji couldn't revoke the curse but said that they csn either take 9 births or 3 births on earth and he will take avtar on earth to free them from their curse....both the sevaks opted for the 3 lives
