Ashar was 8 years older than her. His mother's words would make him insecure how Khirad is happy in Khizar's company as he's younger, how she would care for him which was far from reality.

But Ashar wasn't a bad man. He was ready to listen to Khirad's side before his mother told him that she left with Khizar.

I didn't like FK as Ashar first. Mahira fitted the description I had made of Khirad though.
