Why did he get so angry towards the end ???

I think it's due to armaan-ruhi past we get angry with scenes like today. If the situations were reversed and it was rohit-abhira instead of armaan-ruhi in today's scene then I'm sure Rohit would've reacted the same way armaan did. Remember the Rohit's conversation with abhira and hot chocolate when abhira entered poddar house. If armaan reacted the same way with ruhi he will get bashed because of their past. Armaan inherent's nature is soft by heart he just can't see anyone in pain
