Well thankfully Riya came back to her senses & finally she was awake & safe but she could feel uneasiness as Arjun wasn't there

Arjun is really in a crucial condition & Doctor doesn't have any hopes saying that they should pray to get Arjun back to senses

Riya being adamant wasn't told the truth of Arjun condition so she came to check on him hopefully now Arjun gets back to life soon

Huh......it was very much breath-taking and heart-wrenching portrayal of Riya's pain & Arjun's pathetic condition and of how each of the ETF members was trying to control their own emotion for Arjun-Riya-Ariya's baby as well as their own emotional break-down for this unexpected situation just by thinking about how they are going to handle Riya in this crucial situation if they themselves are not enough strong. Even I didn't realize, when tears filled up in my eyes automatically while reading this chapter & were ready to spill. But, thankfully, Arjun got his sense back just for Riya & his baby. And, that momemt, I felt like, maybe Arjun's senses were still over-working like they always do in solving any tough case; it was just that, he was eagerly waiting to hear Riya's voice just to be assured from her voice only about both Riya & his baby's well-being, if otherwise, he would have chosen to die then & there only, losing all his hope for living life. A Special Mention to the portrayal of Ayesha here in this chapter...too good....👏👏👏. Just loved the chapter very much...❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌👍👍👍

Riya regains consciousness and at the same tie everyone is worried about Arjun and not revealing anything to Riya

But finally, she is able to go meet him.

And looks like Arjun is going regain his consciousness too

Part 40

City Hospital

As soon as Mr and Mrs Mukherjee arrived, they saw Chotu almost dragging Riya in a ward. They rushed in and asked "Chotu beta, kya hua? Riya...?" Mrs. Mukherjee asked worriedly.

Sighing in relief, Chotu hurriedly greeted them with nod and said "Aunty, she just suffer from internal bleeding, doctor ne kaha hai Riya ko kisi bhi tarah ke stress se dur rakhna hai warna baby aur uske health mei aur complications ho sakte hain. Aur abhi Arjun sir ka emergency treatment chal raha hai so..." He didn't have to finish his words as everyone understood the implications. Mrs Mukherjee put a hand on her mouth to hold in her sob as tears fell down her cheeks while Mr Mukherjee looked away to hide his teary eyes.

Chotu loosen his grip on Riya's shoulders as she sat on the bed. But suddenly Riya tried to stand up again, so Mrs Mukherjee held her elbow hurriedly saying "Riyu Baitho!" And she gestured Mr Mukherjee. Clearing his throat, he said strictly "Riya, stop with this childish behaviour. If you wish to stay with Arjun, you better get yourself together. Iss tarah zid karke tumhe kuch haasil nahi hoga."

Riya's shoulders droop as her attempt to go to Arjun ceased. As her fight stopped and her body relaxed, she felt extremely tired and her abdomen ached. She couldn't sat straight as she leaned on Mrs Mukherjee, who made her lay on bed properly before tugging her in. Mr Mukherjee came out with Chotu and asked "Beta, Arjun kaisa hai? Kya hua usse? Woh assassination ka phone call aur ye sab..?"

Chotu said "Uncle, Arjun sir ko goli tou sirf shoulder ke pas lagi hai lekin head injury kaafi serious hai, doctor ne kaha hai ke agle 36 ghante mei unhe hosh aana zaruri hai warna... Arjun sir coma mei jaa sakte hain."

Mr Mukherjee gasped at the revelation as his eyes widen. Sighing, Chotu further added "Abhi hum Riya ko unse milane le gaye the but unke monitor mei sudden changes hone ki wajah se hume doctors ko bulana padha aur mai Riya ko yahan le aaya."

Saying so, Chotu pointed towards the ICU where Arjun is being treated. They came to ICU ward and saw everyone in the waiting area. Seeing Mr Mukherjee, Ayesha gestured Sameer who stood up and greeted him respectfully before informing him about Arjun's condition.

Soon doctor came out and Sameer asked "Doctor, how's Arjun? Is everything alright?"

Sighing, Doctor replied "What happened just now? Was there something or someone here just now to which patient responded!?"

Everyone worriedly looked at each other, then Shree said "We just brought his wife to meet him, doctor. Has something happened?"

"Oh! So it must be the miracle of love. Actually I don't believe in these things but it's the only connection I could relate. Otherwise I can't comprehend how a person who almost fell into indefinite coma and wasn't even responding to medicine, suddenly woke up. It didn't happened in any previous case. Head injuries like that are hard to survive let alone waking up. Just now those machines were giving warning signs as the brain started recieving oxygen and slow heart rate increased suddenly. It was as if some kind of barriers were lifted and all body parts of the patient started responding almost normally." Doctor exclaimed as he still felt dejavu. He was about to be discredited and labelled for misdiagnosis by the neurosurgeon and other doctor whom he brought to study and work on this case together.

Confused Chotu asked "Matlab? Doctor Arjun sir ab kaise hain, ap saaf saaf boliye na?"

Clearing his throat, doctor replied patting Chotu's shoulder "Officer, mera matlab ye hai ke ab apke Arjun sir khatre se bahar hain. His body is responding to the treatment and now he is out of coma. Abhi unhe anaesthesia diya gaya hai so he will wake up by tomorrow morning. Don't worry, patient will be alright."

Finally understanding the doctor's words, everyone exhaled the breathe they were holding subconsciously. "Yes!" Shree and Liza exclaimed as they hi-fi and hugged each other, Chotu and Sakshi happily joined their hand closing their eyes. Sighing in relief, Ayesha smiled and squeezed Sameer's arm to comfort him who felt like a huge burden has been lifted off of him leaving him relieved and light-headed.

Relief washed over Mr Mukherjee as he sat down with closing his eyes to calm himself, he thought he is about to loose the son he found in his son in-law, even though Riya is strong and brave like any son but increasing age kept him worried for his Riya, worried that after him there would be no one for her, to support her, someone who let Riya be emotional, kind and soft-hearted person she is, Arjun is that trustworthy person for him. It's his fear as a father that his brave daughter might suffer injustice in this cruel male dominated society, since there was no brother to take care and support Riya. Arjun's presence relieved him of this worry. 'Oh God, thankyou so much!'

Then they told Mrs Mukherjee who cried out in happiness and since Riya was given medicine she was already asleep. But ETF team didn't relax knowing that there is someone planning Arjun's assassination.

So after being assured of Arjun's condition, Sameer ordered "Team, we have an emergency task at hand we have to strengthen security around Rawte. Firstly let's shift him and Riya in more secure secluded ward. Chotu Ayesha make sure that no one should find out that Rawte survived this attack, do background checks on all the doctors, nurses and ward boy who is/were working in the ICU, warn them to not disclosed this to anyone. Shree keep an eye on surveillance, verify everyone who enters their ward and report anything or everything suspicious within the hospital. Also change Rawte's data at the reception desk we can't miss anything. Sakshi your media connections are needed today."

"Ofcourse Sameer, just tell me." Sakshi readily accepted to help as she took her phone out.

"We need media to indirectly claim that....." Sameer hesitated before continuing softly "..that during the diamond smuggling raid, Rawte got seriously injured and.... and... he couldn't survived." Everyone gasped at this, composing herself Sakshi nodded and asked "But this news is not directly reported by ETF, right?" "Exactly." Sameer replied.

Soon Arjun was shifted to an isolated ward while sleeping Riya and her parents were also send to the room next to Arjun's. Shree made the store room beside their ward as his base and set up his system with Liza. Ayesha and Chotu made a list of people involved in Arjun's treatment and went to warn them. Sakshi just made a few phone calls, soon the news spread like a wildfire and everyone's phone started ringing as various seniors and other authorities of police department called to know the truth. A junior from ETF office messaged Shree to ask about the news and said that phones at the office are constantly ringing "Shree sir, what should we reply?" "Just say you are not informed yet and you did not receive any news from chief or seniors." Shree replied before getting back on his work.

 Hume hamare sources se dil hila dene wali khabar mili hai ki aaj ek diamond smuggling raid ke dauraan police department ki behtareen team emergency task force ke ek jaabaaz honaar commanding officer ACP Arjun Rawte buri tarah zakhmi hue hain, khabar mili hai ke hospital mei ilaaj ke dauraan woh brain injury ki wajah woh shaheed hogye. ACP Rawte apne imaandaar righteous conduct ke liye mashhoor the, aur aaj woh apni duty ke dauraan maare gye. Khabar hai ki unki team ne doshiyon ko arrest karliya hai. ACP Rawte ka loss bohut bada hai desh ke liye bhi, unki team ke liye bhi and ofcourse unki family ke liye.

ACP Rawte is no more, Mumbai feel unsafe.

Riya woke up to the noise of news channel, hearing ACP Rawte she glanced at the television  screen and saw the headlines. Her eyes widen in shock as she tried sit up hurriedly muttering "Ar..Arj...Arjun! No! No.. Arjun...."

Mr Mukherjee saw her awake, he switched off the TV and supported Riya as she continue mumbling pointing at the tv "Dad! Dad Arjun....he.. he!?"

"Shaant baccha! Relax! Arjun bilkul theek hai. He is sleeping peacefully in the next room. You can meet him." Mr Mukherjee said softly.

"Par... ye news ismei...?" Confused and worried Riya couldn't understand.

Just then Sakshi came in and found Riya awake, she sat beside Riya and exclaimed excitedly "arre wah! Riya tum uth gayi. Look tumhara ziddi husband haina, usne doctors ko itna stress diya ke bechare miracles pe believe karne lage. You know abhi mai doctor se mil ke aarahi hun. He said he never saw such speedy recovery of a patient with head injury."

"He.... he did!?" Riya asked before adding "but Sakshi what's going on in media? Why did they.....?" Suddenly realising something, she asked "the media was fed this news for?"

Smirking Sakshi replied "In Sameer's word, chuhe ko bill se nikaal ne ke liye uska chara dalo. But yahan tou cheese ko surakshit bhi rakhna hai. So..." she winked at Riya.

Riya showed a dimple smile at her words then turned and hugged her father happily. She knew everything is now in their control.

Sameer's phone vibrated for 10th time, finally thinking something he answered the call from Commissioner sir and cleared his throat and sniffed on the phone as he speak "Jai Hind, sir!"

"Rathod, ye mai kya sun raha hun. What's happening? Ho kahan tum log? Aur ye news!? Kya bakwas bak rahe hain news wale?" Commissioner sir asked hurriedly.

"Sir woh, Rawte. ...?" Sameer stammered

"Haan haan Rawte. Kahan hai woh? Chal kya raha hai tum logon ka?" Commissioner asked again, impatiently. 

"Sir woh.... he..."

"Rathod sir ek old couple Arjun sir ko dekhna chah rahe hain, woh log morgue ke bahar pohunch gaye hain....." Chotu's voice came from a far. Commissioner gasped as he couldn't believe it.

Rathod turned and looked at Chotu questioningly as he mouthed "who?" Chotu shook his head. Sameer spoke to his cellphone "Sir, I'll call you back later."

Outside the mortuary of the hospital stood an aged lady sobbing covering her face beside a strict looking aged man, his face didn't express any emotion but a frown and wrinkles displayed that he is not at ease.

Sameer came and stand beside them and asked "Excuse me, ap log....?"
