What's love for Zaid, when Zaid says I love you is the question. So sweetly he desperately tries to contact Ayra- she's his responsibility, his pride, because she bears his name. It is very sweet how he wants to be the perfect husband....I always felt he treats Ayra like a queen...but if it is X Y or Z he married also- provided it was not a business deal.and he could respect the lady in his life, he'd do the same.
With MJ- he was the last resort she tagged to herself to avoid embarrassment- one can argue Zaid is justified in hating her and pushing her away like a bad habit that wouldn't leave him.....regardless of what he felt for her once...
He's decent, so he didn't go overboard. He was responsible about his commitment to Ayra, so he wanted to honour that. MJ was meant to be nothing, so he kept it that way.
