They do zero justice in the romance part. Chalo I understand if they didn't want to show any romance in general. But they show Ayra & Zaid romance which is so off with zero chem. For a moment, it's also ok if they don't show anything btw Zaid & MJ. May be they wanted to just show that Zaid is with Ayra and wanted to show the slow build up of Zaid & MJ but they aren't executing that properly as well..
the Zaid Ayra romance is more tenderness/comfort and thereâs definitely an audience for that. People dig it so I wonât begrudge Badar those scenes. Especially if the Zaid MJ track isnât in momentum, it makes sense to throw the audience some crumbs here and there. Not to mention Wahaj was hired so why not make the most of the romance when you can.
The problem is that the Zaid and MJ track is TOO slow of a burn lol. At least for me. And its execution. We donât even get a proper turning point or scene where itâs shown that MJs feelings towards Zaid have changed. When she declared she loved him in the wedding reception episode I was like WHAT? A much better scene for such a moment would have been that bedroom scene where Zaid comes to hang out with her and sheâs in disbelief. Her declaring it so publicly before kind of cheapens the real vulnerabile scene of MJ later on. So a lot of the big turning points are just left to our imagination and assumptions you know? One moment itâs about winning the game for MJ and the next moment sheâs having feelings? For someone who was nothing but horrible to her? When was the turning point for her?
The other issue is Zaids feelings and actions towards MJ being a result of how Ayra is treating him. I feel that also cheapens the Zaid Mj love story a bit because it makes Mj seem like the other âoptionâ. I would love for Zaid to have original thoughts about Mj without any of it being related to whatâs going on between him and Ayra.
Another thing that doesnât help the story is the constant background scheming Mj does. Yes itâs hella entertaining but it comes at the cost of the audience assessing if her feelings for Zaid are genuine. Because obviously she doesnât care enough to hurt the person he currently cares about the most. So the intentions are a bit messy which makes it confusing.
Lastly, itâs just too little too late đ¤Śđťââď¸ The slowest burn in the history of burns lol. I know these Turkey episodes are âtheir momentâ but once again Iâm afraid if all of it will just be Zaid reacting to Ayra ignoring him.
These are all, like you said, problems in the âexecutionâ of the Zaid MJ story. It doesnât seem organic but rather situational / influenced. Still, Iâm curious to see how things will move ahead.
