I kind of get why you think they are mutually exclusive in this case because you have only m read about the bits and pieces of the movie focusing on misogynistic dialogues - they form less than 5% of the second half (even that might be too high).
And I have no idea who this Ranga person is. Can you please share their review - I really want to know what have they written about the movie which you are taking up as gospel truth and basing all your opinions on
CMT, I'm not in the mood to discuss other movies/directors at the moment (although, generally, I love discussing movies and books). I should simply stop to invest myself (thinking and feeling) into two movies where I already wrote everything I wanted to write.
I agree that - contrary to my usual aspiration to not discuss a movie I haven't watched - my feeling of repulse tempted me to elaborate about the reasons of my rejection, the main being the showing-off and the inticing character that the director had in mind.
I like to converse with you, CMT, but I feel I should stop to write about Animal...I've started to repeat myself and to sound like an obsessed one.
Baradwaj Rangan is a professional film critic I find interesting to read/watch (but not taking as "gospel truth") - he is, btw. not 'damning' the movie. I posted his review here:
