Oh I missed it. Sorry
I read it just now and I agree with your every word. Mahabharat is such a beautiful epic. It dives into the complexities of human behaviour. There are so many case studies of Psychology, sociology, economics, Polity and what not embedded in the narrative of a dynamic relationship of two groups of cousins.
SP Mahabharat did a rather decent job of portraying all that. I have seen many BTS where the cast took diction classes, skill classes, and what not to perfect their characters. And it's been 10+ years when the show first came on TV but till date I still remember Shaheer as Arjun, SRJ as Krishna, Pooja as Draupadi, or Praneet as Shakuni. They have a strong imprint.
Back then, Swastik really took out time to study the intricacies of each character and showed it with a touch of drama and class. Loved that Mahabharat.
One of the main reasons why I was interested in Vanshaj was their USP of 'Rishton ki Mahabharat'. Plus this show was being made by the same production as SPMB.
So I started watching this show with 'great expectations' only to end up like Pip from this book who was so madly in love with Estella that he accepted her even after everything he went through.
Just like I am so madly in love with NeiVika that I am putting myself through this rubbish to watch some good scenes of them.
I honestly think they should have taken some time and written the whole story properly. Then they should have done their character sketches and should have stuck to it. It wouldn't be so difficult especially for a production house which has years of experience in producing Mahabharat and other mythological/historical shows. SKT has really let me down.
