Just 2 days back, we had a case in Kerala.. A young PG doctor committed suicide as her family couldn't fulfil the exorbitant dowry demanded by her fiance who also was associated with the medical PG doctor's institution, and was subsequently arrested. So there are dowry deaths and cases even today, not just in the olden days. Some people especially those living in Bihar and UP, still believe in giving dowry, despite there being laws against it.The young generation, boys and girls are mostly educated and are financially independent and are sensible to say no to this dowry system. But the people married from '60s onwards till the 80's are deeply rooted to the old system of dowry and are unable to break away from it, knowing it is wrong, there are ego problems between families which make it a must that they send their daugthers with a good dowry and for the groom's families to think nothing wrong in receiving them to maintain status that they have married into a well to do family.
Love marriages are always the exception which forces both sides to compromise
Now the current laws are so skewed against men, that women are currently misusing the laws and getting away with it. Love marriages, yes, do help in doing away with dowry, but if the family of the boy insists that he demand it, and he is partial to his family, then unfortunately, nothing but succumbing to the demands (if the girl wants the marriage to succeed) is the way ahead. I had a friend whose marriage broke due to this very reason, so there are exceptions in everything.
Although this is commendable that the show is getting good ratings when Zee’s other newly launched shows are miserably failing, it doesn't bode well for us sensible content-loving fans Even more licence for the makers to put in melodrama in bucket loads, now that the TRP gods also have given their blessing. I wish they had waited like a month or so, before showing drunk scenes. Although there is valid cause for Amruta to get drunk, her idol worthy dad turned out to be a cheating husband easily manipulated by his lover, she ( a model employee) was removed from her job just by one word of Mrs Ahuja, and now at the mercy of the Ahuja family; but still wish that they don't rush.Yes, it's ‘Amruta’in the Marathi dialect that is normally spoken in Mumbai. It is how ‘Amrita’ is pronounced in Marathi. Nothing to do with spelling mistake. Otherwise in the north and elsewhere they say ‘Amrita’ which is the original Sanskrit word/name. Just to create situation where she is connected to Virat in some way or the other? Another thing is to show she is more helpless than she actually is - be it in terms of money or external support for the family. People are behaving as if ema is all fine... and something to be proud about. At least not yet in mumbai. There will be people who will shame Jayesh too. But use it to put pressure on Amruta to make people think she is more down than she actually is.
Mom ahuja's attempts are similar. She is kind of like trying to pull down pillars of a tower which will fall down on her later.. which wouldn't have happened if she just let that pass.
I personally am watching the show till it entertains me, after that I will no longer watch.Yes, I would prefer Amruta’s ex fiance rather than Virat’s ex fiance. We had over dose in KKB of ML’s fiance/gf,It's clearly given before launch ML has bitter past & opinionated that most girls are gold diggers trap & marry rich boys for share of wealth, so his ex-partner we know will surely make re-entry into the future story along with his FB.
But what most people are forgetting is possibility of Amruta's ex-fiance or his family making re-entry too.
It's multiple times stressed that Amruta 3 years back cancelled her wedding at altar on wedding day just to work, take complete responsibility & look after her family needs when her father faced financial losses in his business. Her ex-fiance or his family may not be evil, it was her decision to cancel that wedding.

Like who said in the past pages (I think it was Lav2725) that this casting as a woman coming from a Maharashtrian family vindicates her acting prowess and shows how wrong those SP show makers were to not cast her for their serial just based on her non-Marathi origin.

True.
I do find that the second week has been better than the first - despite all the complaints about some senseless / illogical bits. First week felt too fast paced which has come to normal imo. Still ott in many ways - but thats how things normally are. So i do expect the ratings to rise at least a bit in the coming weeks.
