Pakistan bowlers, in general, have taken a hammering after winning the toss and putting New Zealand in. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson put on a 180-run stand for the second wicket off just 141 balls, and then Mitchell, Chapman, Phillips, and Santner cashed in on the momentum to provide the final flourish with quickfire knocks for all of them. Pakistan hardly found any lateral movement with the new ball, although there was a bit of spongy bounce early on. It didn't take long for Ravindra and Williamson to come to grips with it though. The duo started positively, and then pressed on the accelerator during the 21-30 over phase which yielded 86 runs without any wicket. They didn't allow the fifth bowling options of Iftikhar and Agha Salman to settle at all, not that the main bowlers were spared either. Only Mohammad Wasim stood out again, even more so at the death where he found reverse. Other than that, it was carnage. So a daunting challenge awaits the Pakistan batters in what is a must-win game. Rachin Ravindra: Pretty surreal to be able to play in the country of my parents' background and always special to play in India and more so in Bangalore in front of my family members. The wicket was a good one, it was a bit slow to start with, it was a good one bat on and there wasn't much spin on offer. We got a lot of power in the back-end, we just tried to play our (style of) cricket, play good cricket shots. We didn't necessarily put a target in mind, we knew we were going at a good rate and wanted to keep accumulating, we were lucky enough we had wickets in hand going into the 30th over, and from then on it was just about acceleration.
