When Sony started they projected it as movie channel. There used to be 2 movies daily Cine matinee and Cine prime.

Maybe coz of popularity of the shows? It was quite popular in 2010s.. now they keep showing crime patrol whole day.. dont even show repeats of the shows which hampered their popularity.. they just keep promoting reality shows.
