Garima was the creative director, she selected tracks. These days Trivendra Singh is in charge. He remains on the sets for 12 to 14 hrs a day.
Vaishali Nayak is the main script writer since the first leap which had Mrunal Jain. She coordinates with Bhavna for screenplay and Divy Sharma writes dialogues.
Every day dossier is sent by DKP staff to Creative Director. Rishi Mandial is in charge of direction, assistant directors,.editors are on the sets. Mixing takes place in a studio.
This is not one man's work. Zama sketches characters. Akshara, Abhimanyu or Abhimanyu character sketch are his responsibility.
Kasauli track concept was finalised on paper by Zama along with Rajan Shahi and team DKP. ZH took charge because Akshara running away with Kairav under the pretext of sacrifice for Abhimanyu failed. In short Dr. Kunal Khera track flopped due to unrealistic feedback taken from SM.
Unfortunately along with Zama there is a Ghamshyam Bhatt whose names feature on the credits.
Yeh Rishta is a collective effort irrespective of construction or demolition theories made by spokesperson of the Producers.
Actors are representatives of whatever takes places technically off screen.

Haan agar kisko credit hi dena hai toh Sid Vankar ko dena. He made a very toxic show successful.
If you notice, Akshara running away is still a consistent theme and plot point. Even in today’s episode Abhi mentions that both ma and beta (meaning Ak and Abhir) like to run away from problems rather than face them.
And this is part of plan for gen 3 story conceived by Zama in my opinion.
Zama didn’t take over somewhere in middle of this gen3, he is on credits for “Katha Vistar” or “Story Summary” since start of this gen - don’t know about before gen3 as I have never seen any of those episodes. Also some episodes have Ghansham Bhatt listed alongside Zama, some don’t, so probably shared credit for parts of the story.
So my understanding is that the concept of this gen has been devised by Zama. Based on what I have heard, characters were sketched by Garima, Utkarsh and Saba and they had a different storyline in mind with these characters. But at some point (before Gen 3 started), Zama took over and brought this story line. Garima was the creative director meaning she added details and worked on day to day execution of storyline and details along with the director. Her name appears on and off as creative director, so not sure until when she was involved. Her name is definitely there on initial episodes along with Utkarsh and Saba.
My guess is all this has been planned since start, just the timing of execution and details to be put in or dragged gets decided based on how a particular track is going TRP wise. Social media is noise for them I guess, which they look at, may be consider a bit but eventually don’t pay too much attention.
By the way who is Sid Vankar? Don’t think I have seen his name anywhere on credits.
so probably not a factor and nobody even knew that 30 second scene was even coming, so I am sure audience weren’t glued to TV for that
