Neil has not dumbed down a bit, he just wasn't expecting Shobhana to be there. He has been very practical and real so far.

I actually want to know what happened in childhood when vidur got arrested and his mother died, where did Neil spend his childhood. He must have lived in mahajan house, where he may get bullied and what not. One of the reasons he know mahajans so well.
