Tara organises a hare-brained scheme of her "swayamvar" to capture Dhruv and prove her innocence to her mother (because she's sure he will come to stop it).
Dhruv comes dressed as some jungle guy (Nayak), having practiced for a month in the 21st century, as does Samrat (Tillu forges an invite for him, and as per the rules, he can participate)
Ranchod manages to convince Tara of Dhruv's innocence by orchestrating a part where Tara thought Dhruv was attacking her (but it was Ranchod, dressed in the same clothes). Tara knows Dhruv is Nayak and has asked for forgiveness, but not told the rest of the family about it- she's now looking for the person who pretended to be Dhruv and killed her father.
Ranchod also tells them the Navrangvan c u r s e took effect because they believed in it over their love.
Swayamvar down to Nayak vs Samrat, and Nayak despite being temporarily blinded by Samrat ahead of their wrestling combat, wins it by taunting his ego and using his voice to identify where he's attacking from, and finally paralyses him using accupressure.
Nayak is declared the winner, but Tara and he decide to postpone the marriage because they want T to marry Dhruv and not Nayak.

His eyesight was gone for 12hrs and as per QM fight was in 3, he meets Tara right after so even if we assume fight was say 2-3hrs that’s still not 12hrs. But liked how chamatkar did happen 😊
I'd ordinarily say there should have been no issue for Nayak to marry Tara.
It indirectly clears the first hurdle ("D-T" cannot be together, as said by the baba). In their minds, they know who they are- so it really shouldn't be a problem.
It would also afford Dhruv a degree of immunity from the Royal family shouting "m-dand" whenever they see him, even if he shows his real face later. They would never execute the husband of the princess, certainly not so soon after her marriage.
But this is ITV, and we need drama to carry forward the story and keep the marriage from happening, so they've used this track.
In a way, I kinda agree with the thought behind it, because Dhruv would ideally like to clear his name and marry Tara in front of everybody as Dhruv. And I thought the makers put some reasonably compelling flashbacks to present their case (the D-T mehndi and their names together by the flute)
Still, one feels he could still marry her as Nayak and then work towards proving Dhruv as innocent tbh- the two aren't really mutually exclusive IMO.
PS- at some point in today's episode, I thought Nayak's voice was not really like his usual gruff voice, but nobody present seemed to notice
I think the way kanaji sees it as babaji’s words are irrelevant as he has blessed Dhruv and Tara. He agreed to their union during that patrika time where his flute fell on their name.
He reunited them and wants them together. If Dhruv marries tara as Nayak then legally and in history books Tara will be known as married to Nayak whereas Kanaji wants Tara with Dhruv and that can only happen if he is officially married to Tara as destined.
I think if both were in 21st century or if both were from 17th century what you are suggesting would have worked but because this is a union which is different and destined by god he wants right steps to be followed. So perhaps history will show the mad love of DT which overcame all?
I saw that too that his voice wasn’t as gruff but each was busy in their own thoughts and no one was particularly paying any attention.

Before she was a bechari gai and now she has become a lomdi that too a feral one who will bite anyone she feels threatened by.

Poor Mahavir didn’t get the kingdom, wife, or girlfriend. Kingdom will go back to dad, wife will go to Samrat, and girlfriend is not interested in him anymore. This is why he should have waited before falling heads over for Tillo. Dhruv is smart he knows what he wants (Tara) and will do anything to be with her whereas Mahavir his emotions I don’t trust anymore given he falls in and out of love in minutes.
