Everyone were sending jokes that I became captain. That actually motivated me, I wanna say thanks to those people. Thanks to our analyst Prasanna. He worked almost 20 hours a day to give us plans. Also want to thank R Ashwin from India. Before the tournament he said our team will do it. Thank you to our owners for checking on everything we need... If I told you this is one of the great achiements I have had in my life. Want to congratulate all the players who did well, the youngsters.

Imran Tahir is very emotional. He gets warm hugs from his teammates. After five losses in the finals previously, they've got the crown with their sixth attempt. It's only fitting that the Warriors are winners this season. They have the top two run getters in their team - Hope and Ayub. They also have the top two wicket takers of the season in their team - Pretorius and Tahir. After a no result first game, they pulled off six successive wins and only lost once in the 10-game league stage. TKR were poor with the bat as they showed lack of application for this testing pitch. It called for patience and technically sound game, but their batters tried to powerhit and holed out. Pretorius and Tahir shared 7 wickets. The Warriors batters though learnt from the first half and applied better to make this look easy.

Imran Tahir: It's a special feeling. Lot of people said a lot of negative things. Really proud father, player and captain (on winning the title). I just want to thank the almighty. I kept believing in myself. Love you everyone, thank you CPL - says an emotional Tahir.

Keemo Paul: I can't explain right now it's fantastic. My leg was troubling me, physio has been working a lot and he got me on the park. Staying together as a group was key and the camaraderie was so good.
