At the release, Pathaan released on 5000 screens and Gadar 2 on 3500...I also think that this fact was in favour for Pathaan.

Anyways, as for the Indian boxoffice in relation to the budget, Gadar2 is the more profitable one, without any doubt. In this hindsight, Gadar 2 tops over Pathaan.

Boxoffice numbers always are relative...there is more to consider than only the number when comparing smiley2

Pathan Was a patriotic movie too but it goes against stereotypes which is apparently unacceptable for your type

Not every raw agent has to be a superhero, in fact his motivations in the movie were handled right and he wasn't some cartoon villian. It's not like the movie was anti Raw or pro isi, it just showed that individuals can be different from what you expect (which is true irl too) . Your Black and white thinking is just typical for the right.

We have literally dozens of movies in the past few years who have muslim antagonists but as soon as it's a hindu all hell breaks loose..the hypocrisy is crazy.

Please Journey, not "your type"...why not just "you"???

I would not discuss the personal perception of a movie peronally watched...the perceptions are sooooooo different depending on things I wouldn't want to judge (as I wouldn't like to get judged myself because of my personal connecting or not with a movie).

The "handpump scene was the most loved in Gadar...to copy it was nothing else as catering to nostalgia smiley2.

And if people don't understand the core of Pathaan then only why they have a certain mindset that either is their very own or slyly implemented by the narratives foced onto the Indian people since 2014... (and we had just a thread where many wrote to not bringing politics as argument).

Pathaan was a rather realistic movie. There indeed are 'terrorists for hire' who are like 'killers to hire' and mercenaries.

Jim was a very strong villain because he was even cynical about his job as mercenary...he rightly stated that he didn't respect borders or religions or nationalities, not even the thought of humanity or the feeling of belonging...he took a job and made it as profitable as possible and delivered the work.

He hadn't been cynical - probably - when he was a RAW agent (Pathaan and John knew each other from their reputation as RAW agents and somehow had respect for the other's skills...Jim even had a liking for Pathaan). Pathaan mentions - very aptly - that the government should have paid the ransom...he had empathy for what had Jim may have gone through (but not for the crimes and terror acts John did/wanted to do).

Throughout the film one gets the message of human understanding (opting for another view than black & white and stereotypes and conveniently propagated narratives for an inhuman purpose).

That written, I also found the ice skating ridiculous and the flying jet sequence shoddy VFX work...

Well...and for "Hindustan Zindabad"...it has the same meaning than "Jai Hind" smiley2

yes sir/ ma’am ..I don’t care what you think about me, my type, my preference..I don’t need to prove anything to YOU or anyone on this forum..I have been a regular member since many years..to discuss movies..in general. Yes I have a problem when they show an ex ISI agent collaborating with a RAW agent to show an ex Raw agent as a the rogue agent..and I’m entitled to my opinion..not only was the storyline awful..but the direction was absolutely garbage..AND MANY MEMBERS without any political implications have not liked this movie. On this forum. Good lord I have posted tons of posts on Jawaan praising it..even if it goes against the current political regime…but obviously you guys are Obsessed with pricing in the greatness of Pathaan LOL..I think I should never talk about Pathaan lol..shouldn’t give any importance to this awful movie..this is my last post on this topic..so don’t bother quoting me.

Aisa calculation thode hota hai bhai

Agar 100% capacity ke sath movie chalti to baat thi aur jinko dekhna hota hai wo dekhta hai, no movie loses money because of screens

Aise to fir endgame jitna screens hota to usko cross karti bol denge, jitna karna tha wo kari hai

I was wondering why this great actress doesn't have any work after the superhit success of Gadar 2. She has faded away again. I am so confused....
