@bold This exactly is why I never defend AK much for pre-leap stuff. AB is 1000% problematic, but she was no less. In tens of scenes, it's clear as day she wants AB but says otherwise when asked. Actions speak louder than words and there was never a clear no in her actions.
In fact, if AB was little less pathetic & non-toxic I would've actually sympathized with him.. Bcos there are girls like this irl who despite knowing how one feels for them keep on harping on it all the while acting innocent. One never wishes for the guys of their family to fall for someone like them.
The thing was that back then, they showed AR a scheming plotting vamp to justify these cringesters. AB using AR to reach AK and the good sister breaking AR's marriage all got justified.
Abhira own lack of understanding, miscommunication, distrust, immaturity, lust being called eternal love, was covered up as "Oh everything is bcos of Arohi".
That's why I'm relieved they brought AR out of this triangle. Not bcos I believe that AR was madly in love with Neil (maybe Neirohi story could've been a good one but they were never allowed to flourish for sake of leads ddp) but bcos it stripped Abhira of its ultimate cover.
The same for goes for AN. Him turning negative theories weren't just made out of spite, they were made bcos it's obvious that leaving or moving on from a better partner like him to someone as nonsensical as Mr. Birla will look hella bad and illogical. Also to ITV audience, a woman jumping from one man to another will look cheap that's a fact.. Our personal opinions about women freedom can't change the general norms/sentiments in a society. This is not a Hollywood series at the end of the day.
Abhinav lived & died a AA and AR showed best ckt growth, totally exposing the pettiness and shallowness of Abhi ra.
Idc a bit if this show sinks or keeps sailing. But I'm really glad they didn't subject the other central ckts, like in every other ITV show, to be scapegoats of justifying leads bullshit.
If the writers have written 2 pathetic, shallow, hypocrites as leads then let them take the brunt of it.!
