Bharat to be the official name? - Page 8

It’s just speculation and Bharat is already our country’s name in the article 1 of constitution. And hence, both the names -India and Bharat - can be used interchangeably.

This all started because the opposition was desperate enough to take I.N.D.I.A as their acronym and Modi gov's hand was forced to take reactive measures. It should not have been allowed. There should be a change in law as to how a new party/coalition can be named.

I support Bharat over India. The Indian Ocean and other India-related international organisations/entities/geographic locations should be changed to use Bharat. It's high time we claim our true identity and assert it to the wider world. The name 'India' should be treated as a colonial legacy and should be phased out.

Aside of that, and while they are at it, I also want them to get rid of the Commonwealth. It's another colonial legacy that's disrespectful and propagates a subservient attitude.

In my opionion name of the forum should not be changed. As the name given to the forum it shows respect of our country.

Modi didn't brought a new name for India nor he is naming our country Hindustan (then toh I think pata nahi kya he hota, even if that is our name) he is giving importance to our real identity which is already in our Constitution.

People have forgotten that our name is Bharat and is on the first line of our Constitution.

Also it is still not said if docs and others stuffs would be renamed or would be changed from specific time or something.

People need to keep their hate aside and try to come out of their west great mentality and accept our identity.

Yes for you G20 Presidency is such a small thing but tell me why India got the chance for the 18th one?

Why countries like South Korea, Indonesia, Argentina, Saudi too got to chance host before us.

& US already hosted twice and would be hosting again.

Then how it is a small deal that G20 started in 1999 and India is finally hosting it in 2023 when getting is presidency was not a big deal.

if they plan to change, should keep both names official for few years - the way it is.

Appeal government officials to change to Bharat on new issuance - should be this spelling ONLY.

Documents and others can be changed gradually, when ever they need to be renewed!

First and foremost opposition using the name INDIA for their alliance was incorrect and misleading, had Modi been anything near a dictator they wouldn't have been allowed to keep it.

Using the word Bharat is legal and as permissible as the word India within the framework of constitution, it was among the vision of constitution, if he becomes megalomaniac because of using a name in Constitution I think your complain should be to constitution makers then
