Neil expected DJ to be announced next chairman like many, but Bhanu's press announcement of Dhanraj shocked him.
Knowing DJ from childhood & exposed to his arrogance, impatience, lack of team spirit/empathy and his impulsive nature Neil might have assumed it will be easy to tackle DJ & pull down Mahajan business slowly by working with rival Arora's, but with Bhanu / Dhanraj in chair, it isn't easy.
Yuvika & Nagar's are also needed for breakdown of Mahajan group's equity/shares within family to pit them against other Mahajan's.
Neil from the begining was knowing confidential things from Yuvika without revealing much about him, so he wasn't helping Yuvika to protect her from some possible breakdown, but with some personal motive.
yeah Neil realized & accepted he has genuine feelings for Yuvika only last week episodes, and it may cause some inner turmoils soon, while executing few of his serious motives.
Neil may be wanting to utilize this re-digging of old Prem's scandal to freshly frame some elder Mahajan like Bhanu Pratap or Dhanraj in a very believable way as if most dangerous person to Yuvika, so that she goes bonkers in accusing suspect.
Neil wanted to instigate her couple of times mainly against Bhanu, but Yuvika refused to hear anything against Dadababu & didn't entertain him saying Neil can have his viewpoints/opinions which she can't change. (Even if by chance Neil knows Bhanu / Dhanraj isn't directly involved in Avni's case, he can hide & still mislead Yuvika by being her co-investigator.)
Avni's whereabouts are not known for years, Pooja suddenly goes missing from her house, now some running Sophie's road accident happening before her eyes are proper buildups for Yuvika.
(High chances Sophie will again go missing from hospital if admitted, before Yuvika even talks to her)
If Yuvika seeing Sangram Rathi with DJ can quickly jump to conclusion to accuse DJ before family for causing kitchen fire blast to kill her, then in Prem's scandal investigation it will be much easy to provoke her against framed suspect with all the buildup.

I mentioned few weeks back - Neil does not want uv to reach that lady or success in her mission so soon.
Reason can be:
- either he wants her in delhi for longer period
- or he knows - something very very dark in that direction and wants to protect uv from heartbreak / breakdown
- or he has his own motive, using uv's search / maksad / work for his own benefit!
