Just rewatched the precap.....the beginning bit looks like Abhi may have seen Abhir ka bed wetting incident and that is main reason why he wants to stay to help Abhir deal with it.....but exam ka excuse use kar raha hai to request Ak and BP to let him stay.

They are trying to justify and glorify the grieving also. I mean he was part of their life for 6 years. They would have been attached his passing away would definitely affect them.
