I think some of these critics/analysts are stuck between being excited for Gadar2 but also responding to OMG2 and Akshay’s PR and marketing teams. There’s definitely a pattern of letting OMG2 piggy back on the phenomenal hype of Gadar2 and then declaring both as success. Rohit Jaiswal has already called OMG2 a hit.

Just because everyone is feeling the 90s nostalgia today doesn’t mean other aspects of the business isn’t still in 2023.
