What a haunting melody. It gives me goosebumps. And her voice in that, there's something ethereal about how she sounds in it. â¤ď¸

Agreed. It was perfect for the movie. Also, she sounds very earnest in Carolina and All Too Well.

I suck at posting Insta reels/vids on here but Atomonisâ topic indirectly spoke about queer representation in Indian cinema and came across this gem of an interview of Shabana Azmi today. She basically says âif you have to bring change through cinema, it has to happen through mainstream cinema, because thatâs what the audiences are watching. When you tackle these issues in independent/parallel cinema/artsy movies, youâre already preaching to the convertedâ and man I could not agree more!đand this is exactly why a PC playing a Mary Kom may be problematic on many levels, but iâd still argue she was the right choice.
The push and pull between authentic representation and using mainstream to drive change will always be a catch-22. And I have switched sides on the issue depending on the situation.
I think we need popular actors to take on queer roles in India and make the masses understand. I don't mean to dismiss the opposing voices from queer communities with that. For the long term change - both are needed.

It is Lover for me. The tracks are great. But the album doesn't come together for me. Some of the songs feel Reputation. Some of the songs feel Folklore. And Me! is her weakest single.

Imtiaz Ali had honestly started losing me over the last few years. The magic felt diluted, the storytelling increasingly self-conscious. But...
