It might also indirectly fulfill the King's promise to the Senapati- in the quest for revenge, the illegitimate daughter (technically also a Rajkumari) is pretty capable of marrying Senapati.

Only thing that takes me away from this theory- the actress in her Times interview said she was keen to work with Krishna. Which makes one feel most of her scenes might be with him (and so no illegit kid prediction), or was she just saying so because he's the best known actor from this lot (because of Tenali)?

This could be part of that prediction, plus the fact that Dhruv questioned the King's fidelity when the Maharani was away (the Agnipariksha scene)

And of course, Maharaj has been made to look pretty clownish- so it's quite possible that he fathered an illegitimate child.
