Nobody should criticise kabir singh or pushpa or item songs for promoting misogyny and objectifying women. Nobody should shit on Andrew tate as well since his videos get millions of views and is admired by a huge chunk of men around the world. Evenyone should respect him as an influencer🤣

You can critcise whoever or whatever you want, but not everyone will feel the same. The majority of people enjoy TB, KTK,Khaani, etc type dramas. You are in the minority. If channels continue to make such dramas, most people will be more than happy.

You don't have to worry too much, there are plenty of other types of dramas regularily made that would not be considered regressive - even though not many people watch them. Dramas like TB just become massive hits that's why it feels like they are talking over.

I admitted it started well even though it was cliche but then people kind of got addicted to it the same way people get addicted to itv content and rubbish serials with senseless storylines run for years. Everyone here collectively degrades ITv but itv makes way more money than pak drama and is watched by a larger population. Does that mean it's regressive content and people who watch it should be appreciated? Just like itv is a really big industry and makes a lot of money and has a lot of people watching it don't make it praiseworthy, TB's craze don't make the drama any less of a trash bin.

There is nothing to be proud of its success considering its only gonna pave way for more regressive content and more opportunities to people like nooran makdoon. Producers and channels will no longer care about content and will come up with these type of random stories with no head or tail. Pak drama is soon gonna end up like itv. Infact in matter of regressive content and misogyny pak drama is already worse than ITV in a lot of ways.

. In bold … had that been the case then most of the shows would have become successful coz ppl do start watching but give up soon which did not happen in TB’s case ( barring a few but that did not impact ). I hate ITV coz it does not follow a proper storyline . There is only one ITV drama I have watched in my life and too 8 years back.. They start with a story in mind , then keep changing it according to their whims , fancies and trps whereas ptv follows a definite story line and most of its shooting is completed before it’s handed over to channels . Had TB been ITV , Murtsaum and Meerab would have been married , divorced , again married , divorced to different ppl multiple times … Ppl like Ekta Kapoor should be banned . She makes my blood boil and so do ITV dramas. Anyway , coming back to TB, yes it wasn’t in the lines of Parizaad ( which was a class apart ) but it had its own charm …. charm that kept ppl hooked to it no matter what . I would name this charm Yumhaj chemistry . Had there been any other in their place this would have been a disaster so I will give the credit for its success to only and only Wahaj and Yumna . Them & only them. Others like NM, Siraj, producers can take credit for it but even they would know in their heart of hearts that the success has been possible only because of Wahaj and Yumna .

I wouldn't be surprised if they made TB 2. It would probably be a hit too if they cast it well.

The only thing stopping pak dramas from becoming everything you hate about ITv is it's limited episodes format. Siyani ran for 100 episodes and it was not less than any itv drama. TB with just 50+ episodes( which is like 100+ episodes in itv since each episode is only 20-21mins in itv) is nothing less than the old Gul Khan dramas. Ipkknd and all of the successful Gul Khan shows also didn't had any storyline and were massive hits with people going crazy for the leads just the way people are now crazy for yumna and wahaj. Geo and 7th sky is doing what ekta and Gul did to itv 2 decades back. All of ekta's old shows used to start really well, people used to get hooked to them and goes crazy for the leads and then degradation happens. If ekta should be called out and crucified what makes nooran or kadwani also different?

@bold just because majority of people likes regressive problematic content doesn't mean the minorty shouldnt question that content. There is nothing to be proud of for catering to the already regressive mindset of people and degrading women on screen to either dumb and useless or pure evil and covering up all the misogyny of men in the name of 'men will be men'.

Also it's totally fine if people like trashy romance. I myself watches cheesy romantic stuff when I feel like and those are my guilty pleasure but the problem is when these content are made into something they are not. If someone likes watching 50 shades of grey, just watch it and enjoy it. Dont compare it to pride and prejudice and insult a classic just to make a trashy romance more than what it is.

I remember when I first started pak dramas, everyone (people who introduced me to these dramas) were in awe of Farhat Ishtiaq's dramas and now we have people in awe of Nooran's dramas 😆

In this context, I wonder what she will write in her next drama - more slaps and dumb heroines with wacky heros

It's about enjoyment, and TB brings that more than other dramas for many.

Reminds me I asked one mutual, like how do you enjoy watching your hero slaps your heroine

And she was like chemistry is fire, who cares about characters...

And I was actually like yeah you are right, they are all idiotic characters anyway. 😎

If people can enjoy Culpa Mia, then people can love TB.

Don't mind people on this thread, we just don't like misogyny and slaps.

Ipk really made people go crazy.

It aired in soooo many countries. I think it got dubbed also.

That was one successful desi show. No itv should can recreate the success of this.
