Didn't the drama completed shooting around Jan? Both wahaj and yumna exactly knew where the story was going.
Forget slap, she agreed for that spit scene and the MR. All this really made me question her moral compass and how progressive she is as a person. She made a career out of playing women that has been victim of abuse and patriarchy and misogyny. Dramas that's supposed to teach the society that all these is wrong. How did she thunk it was fine to be part of a drama where the so called hero slaps the heroine, the heroine slaps and spits on the hero only to end up getting r@ped by him. The amount of regressive content in TB is beyond count.
There is a difference between being part of a commerical project and a regressive content. All the ramdhan dramas are commercial dramas but not regressive and problematic.
I don't know how progressive she is in IRL as I have not really seen her take a stand or voice her opinion on issues like some other celebrities.
What I do see that she has played different types of SA/SH victims. In PKS, it was her father in law. In DZN, it was the guy whose house she was a servant in. In DSJHS, it was her mamoo (not sage mamoo). In Inkaar, it was her boyfriend. In DNUTN, she was sex trafficking victim
Maybe she wanted to play an MR victim this time. This is the kind of SA victim she has not played yet.
She has done regressive content b4. Yumna was in Raaz e ulfat which was regressive. Also, the spit and slap was not in the script. It was added in shooting - and would have had Yumna's input for sure. Even the scene where MK slapped Merub in E5, according to the director, Wahaj was against doing it but Yumna wanted that thappad scene to be in.
