In MZ fiasco meerab has some contribution, he lost wealth, but murtu means reputation they lost a chunk of it, but murtu has shikwaa with meerab for a differe reason.

I think MB slaps Murtasim for trying the ploy of a jhoothi engagement to have meerab back, thereby ruining their reputation, this might make meerasim leaving the house and MB might get them after anwar chacha persuasion.
