this song reminds me of dehradun , it was raining and we were roaming around in the spatial vehicle of Dehradun and this song was playing
so whenever it rains I play this song which irks my mum a lot 😆
Ahh the rains - the bane of my existence and the object of all my romantic fantasies! 😆 (Bridgerton fans will get this reference)
Growing up in a city where it did not just rain, it poured with venom made me hate the rains growing up. I would associate them with unending traffic, clogged potholes, dirty puddles, the smell of wet clothes that took days to dry 🤢, public transit that came to a standstill, and taking hours to get home from anywhere. To me, rains were meant to be enjoyed (if that) at home with a cup of tea and hot snacks, some great music and a good book.
It's strange how perspectives on seasons can change when you move. In places where the rainy season didn't actually exist, I found myself yearning for the rains. And now winter isn't my favorite season when it used to be when back home.
I do have some fond memories of early school dismissals, taking the long route home with friends just so we could splash in the muddy puddles and be free to ruin our uniforms, because they would be washed on the weekend anyways! 😆
So yeah, I have a love-hate relationship with rains, but there are some things that I just love about rains -
Here's a rain song that doesn't just spell romance, it brings back fond memories of that precious first meeting
Song: Rimjhim ke tarane leke aayi barsaat
Film: Kala Bazaar
Music: S.D. Burman
Lyrics: Shailendra
Singers: Mohammed Rafi & Geeta Dutt
Actors: Dev Anand & Waheeda Rehman
Though I slightly favor the Kishore Kumar version, the visual of this one wins! The glimpses of Mumbai in the rains! Amitabh and Moushmi and their height difference! Them laughing and talking and walking along and just being in love! Ahhh Perfection!
Song: Rimjhim gire saawan
Film: Manzil (1979)
Music: R.D. Burman
Lyrics: Yogesh
Singer: Lata Mangeshkar
Actors: Amitabh Bachchan, Moushmi Chatterjee
My favorite group!
Rain - The Beatles
This song is now iconic because of the path-breaking musical arrangement! ⭐️ (The little piece of backwards music. The things they did!)

I feel what John Lennon sings in this song now:
R...a...y ayy aayy...ain.. I don't mind 😆
This evergreen classic! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Raindrops keep falling on my head - B.J. Thomas
Songwriters: Burt Bacharach and Hal David (Burt won the Best Original Score and this song won Best Original Song at the Oscars! ⭐️)
From the OST of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
