The gesture could also mean that he is paying his gratitude towards MD for giving his Anupama an opportunity to outshine herself in the field of dance. He could be doing it out of respect thats all. I think as viewers we should stop speculating cliché tracks and thats when the procedures will also stop showing such stupid tracks

Yes this is a show famously known for avoiding cliches, like the evil mother in law, bechara father in law, abused but fighting daughter in law, abusive sexist husband, obsessed lover who waits for decades, an abused and discriminated foster child, a loving main lead who sacrifices for all and respects elders, evil prostitute who tries to steal husbands, husbands having extra maritial affairs, a house wife sacrificing career for family, constant religous ceremonies, names of dieties evoked, calibrations and festivals, rape victims getting justice, lectures on women

Its a refreshing show which avoids all cliches

Anuj is known for his chivalry, benevolence and protectiveness, though it worked against him in Anupamaa's case🤔. He's been a lowkey feminist of sorts and generally a kindhearted(also dumb), caring person so him shielding Malti Devi from stepping on the thorn/nail should'nt come as a surprise.

If they are planning to make MD Anuj's mum then they better do it for the right reasons, not to turn him worse than he already is. He doesn't stand a chance at redemption when all he does is 'meri Anu' and sings her praises to sickening levels while living with another woman for reasons unknown.

DKP's whitewashing and victimizing rinse repeat strategy only works well on Vanraj, the Shahs and Anupamaa...Anuj is a lost cause and the struggle to resurrect his character is evident in the botchy tracks they're churning out these days... They have ruined Anuj so bad that it's making Anupamaa, the warrior look pathetically awful supporting him.
