Are we forgetting how unconcerned and dismissive she was about her best friend in the previous episodes. Meerab never considered Murtasim a best friend and in fact hated him so her feelings were moving forward rather than backwards like Maheer’s were. Also there was definitely attraction from Meerab’s side too that made us hopeful for this love story to move forward. I felt the same way about Waqas’ courtroom drama - I was glad he came in and had Meerab’s back but had he taken a stand in the first place, Meerab wouldn’t be in this mess. We as an audience seem to only remember the most recent behaviour of characters. Nourez came in a lectured everyone and people forgot that Murtasim has stood up for Meerab numerous times. Mariam also became mature overnight and came clean with Nourez. So yes credit to him as it could have gone either way but Mariam had better communication with her husband than Meerab has had with Murtasim.

That being said, Meerab’s situation is quite different so I understand where she is coming from. I give her a free pass sometimes just like I tend to give Murtasim a free pass.

Meerab leaving because of an identity crisis makes perfect sense to me and is completely in line with the entire story. The whole entire drama has been about her struggle with losing her identity and not wanting to completely lose herself. That’s why she resisted Murtasim for so long despite of her growing feelings towards him. It’s almost like the two are conflicting. This same conflict is what made her break the contract and make her deeply regret it after. She felt like she lost herself and lost control over the one thing she felt she had control over. I think if Murtasim and Meerab would have been in a good place then she would have been fine but they were in the worst, most toxic place in their relationship. I think it was enough for her to lose it. Meerab needs to figure out who she is without interference from her husband, in-laws and parents. Once she figures that out, her realization for her love for Murtasim will mean more. She will only be with him because she wants him and nothing else, until then she will always view him as someone was the cause of her losing her identity. Murtasim has already realized his feelings for Meerab. I think this whole separation track is for Meerab to realize her feelings towards him. Hopefully the distance between them and that fear of having lost each other will make them realize that they need to trust each other as well. They need a good heart-to-heart. To me, her running away because of an identity crisis makes so much more sense than MR. That would go against what both characters stand for. I didn’t buy the MR trope today at all unless they completely edited the episode but it didn’t feel that way.

Today’s monologue was perfect and this is what hira meant when she said next week you guys will like it… because of SM backlash they added those last minute monologues that did more damage i find!!! I never believed in the MR!! It was a cheap shot for sure…

most people will not understand meerab, but she makes sense.. even if we dont like it!! She lost herself in this marriage and she will never be happy unless she can come to terms and accept her identity. She will just be another mess for Mk. This time apart is good for her. She needs to understand that life is not always about what we want and sometimes destiny gives you want you need and not what you want!

The writer actually didn’t save Murtasim but she just ends the topics abruptly like the slap, taking Haya to village, jump and not questioning Haya. She starts another track without giving the closure of the topics. At first, viewers didn’t mind it much because of the romance element now they reached a point of fed up. So every detail will be discussed by the viewers.
I hope Murtasim doesn’t agree to marry Haya even if it was a fake one.

Not informing MK that he is a dad for 2--3 years and depriving their daughter of a life of safety and security whilst opting living in poverty - all for an identity crisis - makes little sense at best and is very callous at worst.

The issues that plague ML-Merub relationship - trust, respect, communication, working as a team and dealing with 3rd angles - are not solvable through a 2-3 year separation.

She has left for some space and thinking now.

We still don't know what happens that causes her to not return for 2 years and hide the pregnancy. There will be a reason.
