And she was talking about baby boy. She wants waaris. I can never like MB. She taunts Meerab and also Murtasim. But I have never seen her taunting Haya. She clearly knows what Haya wants.

Excellent analysis and you're 💯 bang on with everything but I have few questions:

Nm has mentioned the spit scene has been added later, so is it just to add spice to the MR speculation or does that have any role to play in Meerab getting into the making-out thing. Either way that's🫣 want to know whats the need for it's exclusive inclusion into the plot.

What would have made Meerab getting intimate that too after disgustingly spitting at murtasim.

I can clearly see that the writer is trying to portray how relationships can survive despite women being imperfect just when men can be perfect like murtasim. Hence our flawless ML character, a doting husband who's capable of doing anything under the sun for his wife.

Also, has the writer deliberately left it to our interpretation when or how exactly murtasim started liking meerab or is there any specific scene which is worth recalling in this context.

I need to get this out of my system, so I can concentrate on rest of my life. So, I am going to leave my thoughts here, If anyone has similar thoughts, please tag me – so I’d know that I am not crazy! 😲

There was no MR, not even originally – not because we were told explicitly by monologues or not because Haya’s gyaan was removed to get rid of any indication of a MR. The audience was supposed to believe it as MR until they clarify it later (how later, not sure – very cruel and irresponsible move from their side). So, everything was staged in a such way to believe that. Crux of the story is Meerab’s consent and confession – I believe her confession will come in the very last or penultimate episode; it gives the closure to the story. That leaves the consent – to add the masala to the story, audience were supposed be in the dark; that there was no consent from the ML. So, here is why I think that there never actually was MR, just their way of leading us astray!

· Murtasim Khan is the ‘hero’ – the absolute favorite of the writer

Trigger warning! If you don’t like the writer of TB (NM), please don’t read this part (I don’t like her particularly either, but this needs to be said!)

NM’s writing can be sloppy, illogical, and inconsistent, but everything said and done, no one can deny, ‘Murtasim-Meerab’ is her brainchild. She has first written them on paper – something good must be there that was raised to better levels with the correct direction and production values and elevated to beyond brilliance by the perfect execution by WA-YZ. So, she should get the credit where it is due. Having said that, ‘Murtasim Khan’ is her dream man manifested into reality through reel! I heard her saying in one of her interviews, that she had YZ in mind for the FL, but no one in particular as the ML. It makes sense in a way. She would want an acclaimed actor (though I have never watched any PTV before TB, it is my belief that YZ has a strong body of work behind her), because the writer knows that it is a difficult character, that was written with drawbacks – she may need to even out the issues in writing through a good screen execution. Whereas her ML is written meticulously. Murtasim is the ‘hero’. I have heard that WA has refused so many other slaps that were there and that made the ML softer and ultimately, the MR unbelievable. Even if we believe this, there are so many points that made ‘Murtasim Khan’ the quintessential hero of the story!

From his empathy towards the FL in the dargah scene, his understanding of her reaction during the Walima, ‘Thappad maara hain aap ne meri biwi ko’ scene, his reaction during the whole kidnapping episode, his care during the post-kidnap, protecting his wife during the accident etc. etc. to the last ‘Ek baar kaho ke yeh choot hain!’ scene, ‘Murtasim Khan’ was raised and kept at the highest pedestal possible - the loving, caring, trusting, possessive and protective husband.

So why putting him through the worst accusation possible – a husband capable of MR? This, I think is the writer’s biggest plot twist. The whole ‘room scene’ of Ep. 47 is executed to mislead the audience to believe her favorite character is capable of MR. If you mute the monologues of Meerab and Murtasim, that is what you’d believe. And all will make sense, until they reveal it otherwise. Because that is what we were supposed to believe – MR happened….and finally to reveal that no there was no MR, we were misunderstanding all along!

Then comes the biggest dilemma, WHY? A very important fact here; the writer is dramatic – likes filmy kind of drama. ‘If you have a straight line, it is boring, that means you are dead’ - the writer said in her interview (I assume she was talking about the ECG 😉). So why it is of any relevance here? The ML is raised to the highest pedestal – idolized him; then make him fall to the worst possible pit. If the MR happened in early episodes, the ML can be redeemed (I DO NOT think that redemption is possible for such crimes, so it'd be the end of TB for me.) in later episodes. But we are seemingly at the end of the series. So, make the viewers believe that the ML has done something unbelievably criminal to the woman he claims to be in love with. Let him fall from grace in the worst possible way, to the deepest abyss, let everyone believe that way – then boom…- reveal that he was not even guilty of the crime that you accused him of. The greater you fall, the higher you rise – the perfect glorification of the ML. But this plot twist was backfired. You imply something horrendous, a heinous act that too by an idolized character, without any care – the repercussions were what we saw. They edited things to confirm that it is not MR. If it is originally MR and then was changed to no-MR, then that would be a complete deviation of the plot line and everything in future episodes will be messed up as well. We will be able to confirm this in the future.

· Their body languages

If Meerab is a victim of MR, I’d assume one or both of the following: disgust and rage towards her perpetrator or/ and absolute terror. Going by her character, she would be having more of the first emotion. YZ’s portrayal of disgust is unmissable – look at the slap and spit scene (or before the Murtasim’s slap in Ep. 05), there is no such emotion when she looked at the way he left (after he passed her to go towards their wardrobe/ bathroom side). I would not think YZ, being the nuance performer she is, would miss something like this.

All the other circumstantial points such as the folded dupatta, jewelries on the bed, no ripped clothes and etc. can be perceived the way you want – because I believe they are ambiguously there – just to confuse the audience.

Also, if Murtasim is a culprit – if he harmed the love of his life in the most horrendous way, he would be overpowered with rage. WA would not emote it this way, again, you can see what you want to see here.

· The ‘Gate Scene’

This scene does not seem to be edited last minute. So, I am going to trust this. But again, it depends on what you want to believe. One might say that Meerub used ‘Murtasim Khan ki biwi’ tag just to take the leverage and get the gate opened. But in my opinion, this scene holds more importance than that. If just goes with the superficial value, even if she uses his name to exert the power, if she was a victim of MR, I’d assume there would be some sort of disgust/ flinch while uttering the name. YZ is brilliant in identifying and emoting such nuances. But there was none, so again it is hard to believe that a headstrong character like Meerub just succumbed to the circumstances and completely lost all possible ‘fight bones’ in her.

But that is not all. I am not sure if it is just me being the crazy here, but the moment I saw this scene I was reminded of a very similar scene. In Ep.06, when Meerub was left behind by her adoptive parents in Khan Haveli, the gate was closed on her (do not remember whether the gate was physically closed or not, but at least symbolically it was) trapping her forcefully into the alliance, it was Murtasim who lend his hand to her. In her moment of vulnerability, she took his hand, but right away declined his help – ‘Mujhe tumhare saath ki zarroth nahi hain, Murtasim’ she said and ran into the house. Today, she exerted the influence and the power, that came from the very fact that he held her hand and made the gate open – her ‘azzadi’. But she was not ready to leave – she did not want to leave, she stalled, cried looking at the open gate and with a very heavy heart runs out of it. Why would she not want to leave if she was a victim? (I personally loved this scene!) Again, not sure it is intentional or not, what she wore when she was trapped inside (in Ep. 06) and what she was wearing while leaving are quite similar in my eyes. In fact, that was one of the reasons why I remembered the scene from Ep.06. Maybe it is my over-thinking TB brain, there were several cloth parallels (color-wise) in several other scenes, so I want to believe it is intentional from makers side (I am assuming, the director may be!). So, I quite like this gate scene and it made lots of sense in my head at least!

As how each one of us have perceived these scenes, hopefully everything will be clarified in future episodes. There will be few more episodes, I assume, so we just have to wait and watch!
