It scares me because, while this reaction was just because of a fictional story promo, in real life so many people are harmed and killed after this kind of a phenomenon, where misinformation and misleading info riles up a mob. To me, I just saw fury sweeping like wildfire. It reminded me of real news reports I read about where one alleged inflammatory post is created and before figuring out that it was a prank, the news spreads through WhatsApp and suddenly whole housing units are set on fire my angry mobs. How many innocent victims are harmed just because people don’t wait to get the proper facts. (That’s why in the law, society has felt the need to use “innocent until proven guilty” as its fundamental basis. ) And all this Twitter fury and attack was happening just because of a fictional show - imagine if this was a real situation. Lives, reputations, so much at stake. It’s a dangerous game.

That people with huge social media platforms were involved in whipping up the rage yesterday without verifying the information … before actually seeing the episode… it was a sad commentary on humanity. I don’t want to be a part of that kind of thinking where emotion and rage takes over logical thinking and evaluation.

Well said. This is the problem with SM. A small fire can spread so quickly here. Ppl were quick to judge even when they knew that it was not confirmed.
